Oh dang, this is funny. I remember when we all felt this way towards Boston and Nick. Now Boston seemed tamer. Although both are manipulative, at least Boston had always been honest about what he wants. Ming couldn't be more confused.

What I absolutely love about this series is that one of the leads is a red flag, so we have a complex character that will be so conflicted at some point. There’s no way someone can sugarcoat the things happening, the things Ming does and I believe everything they are showing with those flashbacks is for us to understand Ming in the present, someone that is filled with regrets as he’s living without Joe and he will go back to all those moments where he treated the boy so wrong and he will be hurting as all those memories will be washing over him, he’s gonna feel so overwhelmed and like he can’t just breathe properly as his heart is gonna feel so heavy and unfortunately, regret will be the feeling lingering the longest in his heart, just dwelling there and that must feel awful. My heart hurts for Joe, he doesn’t deserve what Ming is doing to him, but then again, who can resist someone like Ming? He knows what he’s doing and he gives dose of himself to keep Joe coming back for more, but I can’t wait for him to suffer and grovel, I need him to ask for forgiveness on bended knees and even crawling 💀 I love how possessive he is though. He’s so smug about having Joe 🙈 andhe genuinely smiles when he’s with Joe. He’s gonna fall harder 😩

Very well said. Well,the title itself says it all. One of the main leads was only a stand in. So what do people expect?? People can't expect vanilla love story straight away. Then what's supposed to be the conflict??No conflict then what's the point of the story.
You r absolutely right. In First episode we have seen when Ming saw him in elevator and stop him asked him- "have we met before"? This scenes show us how much Ming dying to see Joe. That is the present scenes and now we r watching past scenes before Joe's accident. Yes Ming is a red flag. But he will fell hader for Joe. When he lost him he definitely can realize how much he loved with Joe. I want to see him to suffer for Joe. How crazy he can that be!! How far would Ming go to get him back!!! Regretness itself a punishment and Ming deserve it. Ming definitely will suffer. Probably we r waiting to see the scenario.

Stephen Chobosky wrote in The perks of being Wallflower that "we accept the love we think we deserve"...seeing Joe choosing the toxic love from Ming and not quite recognising the red flags proved the line. Humans are itself complicated AF!

I personally hated that morning scene so much. Ming being all selfish and wanting Joe because he looks like tong is something that will break anyone's heart. Joe have so much love and affection for Ming when he looks at him. Ming just shattered his heart by those harsh words he could've told him nicely. I know he wanted to deny his little bit of affection he feel towards Joe but that was not a right way. We can clearly see Joe's smile fading away when he heard Ming calling him a stand in. He is his own self he can be someone's stand in onscreen but offscreen he have his life to live Ming can't just call him a stand in 😾. Ming will regret his words just like in dff phee did 😔 (the only difference is phee regretted his words and Ming will regret his actions )

Yes. His storyline wasn't too happy there either, but at least in Our Sky Dome did love him (Vee) back. Whereas here, Sol looks like he has already lost his chance with Joe, because he came back too late to save him from this red flag. Watching this show years after reading the book that it's adapted from, made me remember how much I hated Ming's character till the end. Our suffering will go on it seems.
