  • Today we take a look at what is often the most forgotten part of D&D and that is exploration.
Together we will go over how to make it a bigger part of your games and some useful tools that exist for incorporating them easily and quickly into your games!

If I can help just one person with a purchase, starting a hobby that will change their life or just help you waste a few minutes of the day, then I have done my job.

Commenting on th 4 year old video, still quite useful: my players may find things along the way like patches of specific herbs or outcrops of a type of rock that are either part of a side quest or provide a clue to the main adventure.

Great video, probably my favourite pillar of D&D and it has the least emphasis in 5e. I will be watching this a few more times.

I like the exploration table idea, but I'm not going to make an Intagram account just to download a single file.

Ok I’m not gonna lie, this is a great video. I’m running my first long campaign and I wanted to be more than combat and great NPCs, this might be the help I needed to make a more interesting and organic world.

Great and awesome video; maybe could have used more maps and sound back in the day...myself never needed much prep-work to let them explore, almost always did improvisation on the spot. Not every DM or GM does this well, I found the instant genius creativity on the fly, can make a huge difference in players enjoyment and thus the difference in perception on how good a DM/GM is.

Fantastic. I've felt for a while now that exploration is largely missing from modern D&D. I’ve created a list of a couple of hundred points of interest. Major points are mapped beforehand. Minor points get mapped when i decide the heroes have stumbled on them.

Best video on exploration I've seen so far. It's very concise, with principles broad enough to apply to any system whilst still offering useful advice. Also, it seems to be a much more rules-light approach, as opposed to using something like a hex crawl.
I am curious though, if you were making an open-world style campaign that revolves around exploration specifically, would you change or add to this advice at all?

You know, my current campaign is very exploration heavy so I may answer that in another video. I've found it by far the hardest thing to implement well into a campaign
