- In 2015, a young doctor, Dr. Siddharth Mohanty, who has just completed his MBBS from a government medical college, is posted to a back of beyond tribal area in the Malkangiri district. Janbai PHC has 151 villages under it, is infamous for its Naxal dominance and doesn't even boast of the most basic facilities.
Dr. Siddharth Mohanty arrives reluctantly, wanting to quit at the earliest. But fate wills otherwise. Daman is the story of 151 villages and one doctor to control the spread of malaria, the tussle between superstition and medical science.

I can relate to the struggle of the people for good education, mobile networks, and good health facilities. This area is marginalized and backward. The majority of the people in this area are innocent tribals. The area has yet to develop despite thousands of public policies. My father was a doctor in koraput district during 90. He was captured by naxalites and was beaten up for being a informant of govt and starved for 11 days untill CRPF and odisha police rescued him. After that incident he had back problems and difficulty in standing up for rest of his life and he passed away in second wave. It's really incredible what many doctors and other govt go through in working in those area with absolutely no electricity or roads
