Nice work on a great rendition of Bach. I used to play this, when it first came out with Apollo 100, on a Hammond and it's challenging and quite fun still. Thanks!
Your performance of Apollo's Joy based on Bach's theme is excellent! Thank you for sharing. I want to learn how to play it, for it's one may favorites of all times!
I love this. To be able to see the keys used. Maybe someday if I I get back into playing with my keyboard again I'll be able to learnnto play this dong without trying to learn it by heart.
I had this same keyboard of which i used to compose an alternative to the traditional wedding march for my wife. It was named after her and my young cousins played it at our wedding. it included a twelve string guitar, a flute and a french horn. nice job by the way.
Nice rendition. I taught myself to play that song on the Hammond Home Console Organ back in the '70s. Had a "rhythm box" and 13 bass foot-pedals which were nice but not as handy as multi-track playing. Bach's classics are great to learn with because they are built on basic structures and then layered step by step with complexities.
Hi Scott, thank you for that! I've wondered but never truly pursued the real facts but I see that you performed on an organ and I have to assume that Tom Parker also performed that big hit back in the 70's on an organ? But what about Bach? Did Bach perform on an organ also, or a piano or both? Musically, I'm, illiterate but have a huge interest as a listener. Thanks again!
COOL BEANZ!!!!!!! I play piano, too, but not like that! I've always admired the discipline and dedication it takes to play classical (i play gospel/r&b/soul), y'all guys and gals are awesome in my book. I guess i was 12 going on 13 when "Joy" came out, and just reaching a point where you could identify what I was playing from listening to me. Keep up the great work, man!!!
Arthur Williams I greatly appreciate your kind words. I was about 8 when this melody came out and 17 when I learned to play it, that's a great melody !
Daniel, First I created an audio backing track from a midi file using my Yamaha DGX620 then use this backing track and I played the melody and chords on DGX620.
I bought the Apollo 100 single 'Joy' in 1973 and still have it.
Bravo! Takes me back to those great years in high school. 74-78
SUPER! BRAVO 👏!!!!
Absolutely wonderful, beautiful song, beautifully played.
It's One of the music of Boogie nights
I love this song and this film 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I am enthralled just by watching these magical hands. They look like little dancers on the keyboard. And look like they are having a marvelous time.
Extremely well done Bäch! Loving it.🙂

What kind of backing track did you have?

Is this the version on the HP 'green wave' ad?
Hi Danny,
I do not know. I have not heard that version, do you have some link?

Excellent cover! How many times did you have to practice to get it right?
48 AÑOS DE LA LUCHA LIBRE DE PUERTO RICO C S P W W C.
Is this in 12/8 time? Or is it noted as triplets in 4?
which ever you like my friend :)
Arturo, is that a Korg PA 90 that you are playing the song on, and is it following you as you play it?
Daniel,
First I created an audio backing track from a midi file using my Yamaha DGX620 then use this backing track and I played the melody and chords on DGX620.
It's strange with the backing track which is in a different key, it almost sounds like a harmony part
Amazing world of gumball episode
Replied to my own comment
“ Quite a finger ‘workout’ even for an easy to play organ. I can imagine this would be very difficult to perform at that tempo on a piano?”
Jésus que ma joie demeure est sublime en n'importe qu'elle version ,n'est-ce pas ?...
Sounds like it's in a different key than the Apollo 100 version.
I already "liked", but here's another!
Needs more reverb.
Thanks for the feedback !

Anybody else come here because of the gumball episode
Desentona un poco.
Casi no tiene bajos que son el alma de la melodia incluso en la original de johan Sebastián bach que es un sublime contrabajo... 🙂 Lastima...
Jesus dude…….pick a key
Hai sbagliato organo.
bien interpretado, pero con todo respeto tu teclado tiene un mal sonido, según yo...
man chords are wrong
Al principio tus acompañamientos estan mal. No me cuadran checalos bien.
Takes me baktanam genocide etc. ...*sigh*...
Hack, give us a break you missed large parts and your execution was weak
que horrible versión
The prominence of the harmony notes almost makes it sound wrong, though after a few seconds they sound absolutely genius!
