Build several mega solar lasers, then use mirrors to steer the lasers onto a common target.
You now should be able to melt steel. Or at least get it hot enough to make workable. A solar forge, if you will. TKOR meets Alec Steele!

Ohhh yeah! They made one on that old Discovery Channel show The Colony but it never made the televised cut. I always wanted to know how exactly to make it.
I wonder how useful this would be in a survival/post apocalyptic situation. Like boiling water, lighting fires, cooking food (like a barbeque and hotplate, over a less focused area), forging tools. You should do a collab with primitive technology to see how he would use it.
That'd be a cool idea. I'd say that it would work pretty well, but...you never know.

Energy Flurry In a post apocalyptic scenario you could use other materials to make a material similar if you have the knowledge. Personally I'd use a tv screen since they also catch and concentrate sunlight very well.

The one thing I like about this channel is how it reminds me of my favorite show Mythbusters by making people see science can be fun.
fun little modification is to as four laser at the corner. It's easier to find the focal point when you're only looking at one color and four dots. Instead of judging how bring the object is under natural light, you're looking at four dots get closer.
Position 8 solar scorchers in a circle and make all of the focal points on one point and try to see how hot it gets and try to melt a metal with a high melting point. Like if you agree
The problem with this theory is trying to get all them to focus sunlight to the same area You know with the Sun kind of being a fixed point yeah you could get 8 scorcher set up in direct sunlight but I don't think you could get even two in direct sunlight to focus on the same spot But you know I'd be glad to be proven wrong lol

Have you tried using any of the glass lenses from the projector tubes with either scorcher to magnify/focus the beams?Also,if you flip the scorcher 180deg,to where the rings/grooves are on the opposite side,does the beam stay the same?Thanks!

if the gloves had material inside the rubber, the gloves wouldnt burst. and your veins wont burst because they would be at normal air pressure, not in the vacuum
The glove going inside the vacuum chamber would burst inwards into the chamber, or they would stretch inside the whole vacuum chamber
actually there is the backyard scientist he had done this to see what would happen fyi your veins dont burst its just with the strength of the vacuum it makes the gloves expand you would need some pretty heavy duty gloves to do this although it would be a pretty cool addition to the king of randoms channel

I have an idea! First, carve into dry ice into any shape, with in mind that you're gonna be using this as a metal mold. Melt metal of any kind and pour it into the dry if mold, and see if you can perfect your sculpture and master the making of it.

Line them up side by side, then turn them until the focus point meets. Sure you'll have some heat loss due to the turn but the sum total focus point should be greater than that of one. Cool idea!

So, just food for thought, try using a Dutch oven to cook with. Also, could you use mirrors to make the beam reflect onto the bottom of a cooking pan? Maybe toss a prism in front of the beam and see what it looks like as it approaches the focal point
