The reason for all sorrow is "Ajnana" which has come from Anadi-kaala. The only way ajnana is gone, is getting or receiving Jnana from Vedanta that can get rid of sorrow/dukha permanently. Note this is aatma-jnana and is the most shreshta (most auspicious knowledge to get rid of rebirth , which means there is no sorrow to a living person).
