A lot of other people didn´t." which was followed by Tony saying "yeah but I can´t help everybody." to which Pepper replied "it sort of seems like you can." THAT`S what pushed him to go through with the time heist. Tony undeniably loves Peter but not more than he loves Pepper and Morgan. He explicitly stated that he would put a stop to the entire mission if it endangered his daughter´s safety at any point. But only through Peter was Tony able to really understand the sadness of losing a loved one because of the snap. The rest of his inner circle all survived. So Peter played an enormous role in that decision but ultimately guilt is what really convinced Tony. The only reason he was able to start a family in the first place is because he was given a second chance in Afghanistan (Yinsen sacrificed himself so Tony could make it out alive) so he couldn´t stand robbing others of that same opportunity, especially not Peter, the kid who was supposed to outlive him and become a better hero than he ever thought he was. Tony knew he could never fully enjoy his happiness if it came at the expense of the sorrow of others. That means Tony really came full circle from being perhaps the most selfish character in the MCU in Iron Man 1 to becoming the arguably most selfless character in Endgame even before he sacrificed himself.

A great way to commemorate the entire Infinity saga era of movies these are the movies that layed the brick to the fondation the MCU is built on and these movies will be the MCU classics that no one will forget!
