I watched the first 7 minutes of the first episode and stopped before I received brain damage...and a few minutes ago I came across one random scene of the fat creepy guy getting raped by a bear... if this anime is good at anything, it's mentally scarring the poor viewers. Now excuse me while I sit in a corner craddling my knees in trauma.
"And after he was done eating and sniffing her..... Wow that sounded really wrong as I was saying it." I DIED.
The ending of black bullet. The scene where Kisara cut this guy's body in half. I've seen it all, I watched a lot of gory movies and gory animes and I can't think of anything words that can top this off. Even family guy where there are some scenes they cut a human body in half is not as disturbing as this, where evil stewie cut a woman in half. NOT EVEN ELFEN LIED!
That scene from black bullet will scar me for eternity. I can't think of deaths even worse than this.
And then at the end Kisasa turns around and says, "Because i'm evil". Wow, just wow.

You wanna watch a far better fan service anime than Green Green? Check out Sekirei. Yeah, there's so many shots of boobs and panties, and a booby jiggle or two but at least the male main character, Minato, is likable and the female characters have personality. Hell, I even recommend Panty and Stocking over Green Green. Yes, I did watch a few episodes of Green Green and that anime was trash. There is no way I would sit through all 12 episodes of three creepy would-be rapists constantly taking center stage and watch absolutely nothing happen.
I finished watching this Anime a while back, and, Like you, I HATED IT!
One scene that made me want to shoot myself, was when the guy with the Thick Eyebrows, of the Idiot-Trio asks:

Green Green was one of the first list of animes I watched in high school. Back then, ecchi animes were still new to me so everything they dished out was shocking but amusing, to say at least. Now that I'm in college and decided to re-watch Green Green out of nostalgic memories...holy shit what was I thinking back then. I really felt my IQ going down after ONE episode! Jesus Christ it's terrible, but it did showed me how much I grown in my sense of humor and taste in animes.

There were a number of scenes that scarred me for life in Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. It's not a very good anime to begin with. It had so much potential, but it just unraveled as the series progressed. Not to mention it was confusing as hell.

I actually kind of liked the anime. I agree the animation was really bad, and yeah I hated the 3 guys. However what really hooked me was the romance between Yuske and Midori. The whole forbidden lovers who will do anything to be together even if that means tearing the very fabric of time, that really got me. Granted the scene where Yuske got his memories of midori back was sudden and rushed and I wished there would have been more to it then that I liked it. And the ending where Midori has to go back to her own time actually brought tears to my eyes a little. Unfortunately that alone dident out weigh everything else wrong with the show. I dident find it that funny either except for the male teacher with the megaphone. I'd give it like a 1.5 outa 5
The first time I saw Higurashi scarred me, although it was meant to. The fingernail scene! Sitting in my house alone in the dead of night watching the first few episodes when the girl was standing in the rain outside the guy's house...I was young and haven't watched it since since then but I still think that fingernail scene would freak me out.
I see, I did not see schools days but I hate green green so much that even without seeing it I know I will agree with you. Oh and sorry for voting for this anime to do a review of, it was just the only anime on the list I had seen. And I wanted to see a rant, lol.

I commend you for sitting through, lesser men would have caved. Also, the scene that mentally scared me was the tentacle molestation scene in To Love Ru. It wasn't because of the nudity or molestation, no... It was the fact that after the blue-haired girl was kidnapped and molested, bordering on rape, when the molester was defeated, not only was the molestation victim ignored by both main characters for almost 3 minutes, but the molester was set free with no consequences. It sickens me.

I can remember a movie called Gone Baby Gone with Morgan Freeman in it, that will probably forever cruelly stay in my memory. For the sole reason of it's ending, my god was the ending beyond painful. Everything that was built in the movie was completely twisted and it basically ended with a sad little girl having to live in total poverty just because the douchebag of a main character decided that she was better off living with her drugged up mother instead of Morgan Freeman. Who played a cop.
funkwolf1 I just read a summary and yeah, that's messed up. The mother didn't even know the name of her daughter's favorite doll, for crying out loud! What kind of person thinks a child is better off with a druggie?!
I liked Midori and yuusuke's relationship, it was deep and the last 3 episodes were great because the romance finally started. Also, there was a metaphysical aspect to this show with Kutaba sensing people's Ki and with Midori knowing Yuusuke from a past life, that was cool. I liked the comedy too even though it was kinda childish, keep in mind I watched this show back when I was like 12 so I do have some nostalgia for it. Overall I would give it a 7/10.

I don't mind the fan service but, I don't like it all up on my face. Its like Ernest camera mugging where its like, "LOOK LOOK LOOK I CAN ANIMATE BOOBS, I CAN ANIMATE AWKWARD MOMENTS IM TOTALLY NOT TRYING WAY TOO HARD!"
Okay... Spotting shit is a form of art... A way of life. And some shows make it especially easy to spot it. This is one of them. My God, I barely got throgh episode one wwit any will to live.

you poor soul i believe tony is right it's ...........SHIT! i mean as i said i watched this anime when i was twelve coincidentally but even then i found it somewhat ok but not redeeming enough to go past episode 5 with out being like this is getting nowhere so imma check on wikipedia if the story has a resolution if the story was the "supposed romance" between futaba (purple haired girl) and pussy (yusuke) and i read the ending on wikipedia it said they sort start a relationship but i honestly feel that just adds to the insult since they finally get somewhere and say fuck you it is over like btoom ending honestly if i wanted boob shots and panty shots id go watch tenjou tenge which i hate but even it at least has a confession before the end of the series so just fuck this anime

Honestly, I watched this Anime several years ago and thought it was tolerable then. However, shortly before finding this video, I re-watched some of it, realized all the flaws and problems and it is now on my top 10 least favorite animes list (so far). Also, just to throw it out there, neither of the OVA's are doing it any favors either.

I watched this anime with a group of friends and a fair amount of alcohol, and we had a great time laughing at each other's horrified faces. It's amazing in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of awful way.

I watched this anime when I was around 14 and back then, I didn't really care much for the lack of story and character development. When I would watch it again, 6 years later, I would probably think the same way as you do

The problem with the Green Green anime is that it deviated a LOT from the visual novel that was the source material. As the reviewer said, the trio of Bacchiguu, Tenjin and Ichibanboshi got a lot of undeserved screentime. In the game the reason they appeared so much was due to the lack of a "voice" for the protagonist, which means it was on them to help move the plot along up to a point (obviously the trio didn't appear as much if at all once you started heading towards the resolution for each girl's route).
As far as some of the mind-scarring scenes, my favorite hypothesis on this is that the guys at Groover (the company that made the game) were trying to get the show cancelled or shorten its run by pushing the envelope as far as they could. It would also explain why the beginning of the series aired on primetime and was then moved to a 2 AM timeslot back when the show aired in Japan.
As far as fanservice....the original game didn't have a ton of fanservice per se. Sanae in her undewear, Wakaba being tricked into taking her clothes off, discovering Futaba (the purple-haired girl) pads her chest, and Midori's dissolving bathing suit incident. That was pretty much it.
If I didn't know any better, I would say the anime was aimed at people who played the game and already were familiar with the characters. Even then, some of them were blatantly changed or had their themes entirely removed. Not even mentioning what they did to Midori's character.
Tenjin might as well have been a cult leader O_O Raise your rice bowl for the 'Cult of Sanae' :P
Green green was great if you expected more from the show then your expectations were to high and if you keep putting super high expectations on shows you won't like a lot anime series.

Would you guys believe me if I told you… the voice actor who played Yusuke in Green Green… would go on to voice Red in Pokemon Origins, Rin in Blue Exorcist, Kirito in Sword Art Online and…Eren F***ING Yeager in Attack on Titan!
Yep, he was voiced by Bryce Papenbrook. Even his voice acting sucked in this. Thank God he went on to do much better projects than this.
Oh, and Midori was voiced by Cindy Robinson who's the current voice of Amy Rose in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Thankfully, she moved to do better material too.
This anime was truly godawful! I tried watching it but I just couldn't take it anymore! I quit while my sanity was still with me!

Just Case Closed/Detecive Conan. The reasons that the people decide to murder the victims are just sad. I don't wanna give examples because it's something you'd have to watch. But yeah, I cried.

i liked green green. the romane between midori and yuusuke throughout the anime was imo kind of forced, but towards the end, it felt genuine. the plot felt sometimes rushed, but it was overall enjoyable. and what i found out after watching it was that there was a hentai ova that concluded the series.
Highly agree with you, their relationship should've started earlier on. But at least the last 3 episodes paid off, it made me emotional.

alright, if you really want to know...basically, those three get locked in the gym storage or wherever it was and it gets really humid. They start getting delusional and hallucinate that they're each with their 'dream girl' and get to do things with them...when in reality...they were actually doing said things with each other...none of it was R rated or anything, but still really disturbing.
the purple-haired girl's name is Futaba :) I remember that she was the only character I liked in this anime... she was decent and I really shipped her with Yuusuke, cause Midori is one of the most annoying girls in the history of anime :/

I don't know if you played the Persona video games, but try watching these movies and shows.
The theme of Persona 4 is searching for the truth and accepting your true self, and the theme of Persona 3 is understanding your role in your life by accepting the fact that life is temporary.
The best experience is through the games, but if you've no time for the games, watch the show and movies.
The anime is shit. Both of them. I rather play all the Shin Megami games then watch those horrible anime. The same goes to Devil Survivor 2 and the past OVA Special of Persona 1

I saw green green when i was 11 years old back in 2006, it was my first echi anime and my 4th anime ever and for some godforsaken reason i liked it and at some point there was a scene where 3 annoying guys get into the shower or something and gets really really gay, (at the time i had no idea what the hell gay was in fact i didnt know it existed, i was a really innocent kid)
after that scene i turned it off, deleted the whole anime and didnt watch any anime for over an year, to this day im a bit traumatized
from a guy that actually likes school days, I tried watching this show and stopped after episode 6. I feel that this is Endurance test: the anime. I failed.

You should watch "They are my noble masters"! It's a good anime and it's funny. I also would recommend to anyone who likes romance, comedy, and harem.
School Days honestly wasn't THAT bad. I personally went in knowing just about everything that was going on because of a couple of reviewers I subscribe to, and thus went in with VERY low expectations. Over all, I've seen worse. Fout that come to mind right off the top of my head are Demon King Daimao, Girls Bravo, Omimori Himari, and Karin, all of which except DKD were at least half-way decent (or as close to "half-way decent" Girls Bravo can possibly be)

Okay, the "Idiot Trio" was locked in the Gym storage and it was hot and humid as Tony said, BUT, because the Heat was getting to them, they started to have hallucinations of Girls, However, in reality, they were actually Raping each other(or at least, that's what it looked like)

Hey Tony! I've been following you for a while and put Green Green on my list because of this review and you talking about it in future videos. So, today, I finally sat down to watch it.
Yes, I agree with you, it's bad.
HOWEVER, it makes me sad, because it had the potential to be so much better. Spoilers down below for people who are reading this.
I understand it was adapted from an eroge, and because of that, it had the perfect template to be made into a fanservice ecchi anime. But what if the ecchi element that is so prevalent in the anime was taken out completely, or toned down a bit?
I feel like this anime would've been superb if it had focused on its supernatural elements. If the relationship of past Midori and Yusuke had been developed in the beginning, and maybe if we had gotten a whole episode full of that, with just their silhouettes and the telling of the story a la Romeo and Juliet, it would've given their dynamic a little bit more substance and an arguably better believability as the story went on.
That being said, I really like the angle of Midori coming from the future as a reincarnation of herself and trying to get Yusuke's memories back. I think it's a cool angle to take, especially in the year this anime was made. Also adding the secondary love interest (that purple-haired girl, whose name is Futaba!) made things a little bit more spicy, interesting, and got you wondering who he would end up with.
Focusing on the romance elements mixed with the supernatural and having that be the basis of the comedy probably would've made this a stellar anime. However, it has its issues.
The three comedy relief characters could honestly be taken out and I wouldn't have been offended. They annoyed me to hell and back. The only comedy relief characters I wish would've shown up more is the guy who has the hair in his face (loved him) and the girl with the braids who was boy crazy, because undoubtedly, when you mix a boys-only school with a girls-only school, that would've been a believable situation and character archetype. Having them as a wacky background relationship would've been awesome too because I could see they were hinting at it in the anime.
The ecchi elements could be gradually turned down with the removal of the three "comedy relief" characters, but I wouldn't eliminate it entirely. The wacky situations with Yusuke and the other girls could've been enough.
I would've also loved to see more character development for Futaba's little sister (the girl with the cactus), the female teacher, and Sanae, as well as the main love interest girls. Knowing more about them probably would've made them more relatable and interesting. Also, Yusuke. That would've been nice.
