That's one thing I also love about BtoB's song because they don't sacrifice the English grammar when they include English lyrics on all their songs and I think having Peniel helps in that part fairly well.
Agreed! Going from Korean to English it tends to be too many words that don’t go with the flow of the song so I’m glad Peniel is there to change the lyrics but it still makes sense!
Not just in music but their entire relationship are like that, like food chain..all the hyung at the bottom line of food chain while hyunsik and sungjae the top of food chain...that's the harmony of their relationship..so unique
It really is unique! Totally agree! Especially given the culture of SK and how age works there. I just love that they don’t care about norms and just do what works for them as a group
Thank you for reacting to this..love it. Yup these guys are goofy but turn really serious when recording their song..especially Hyunsik. He really makes everyone nervous..especially Eunkwang, haha. I believe their recording process took many hours and days..retouches and revisions that are not shown anymore on Batcom. And yes, Hyunsik still monitors the recording of the rap parts like he usually does. I think he was busy with other activity or something during Minhyuk and Peniel's recording that's why he wasn't there. That's what I think. Can't wait to see your next BTOB reaction..keep them coming..
Hyunsik is a very serious person when it comes to music but I really don’t blame him! I would be too lol I’m a very strict person when it comes to important work 😂 I thought it was so funny they were nervous because of Hyunsik lol but he seemed so chill talking about how he wanted it to sound.
Oooohhh! Okay I was wondering because I just get the feeling Hyunsik wants to be involved in the music making process beginning to end so I was surprised he wasn’t there when Peniel and Minhyuk were recording lol but that makes sense he might’ve had something going on!

29:54 hyunsik still monitor the rappers (check their recording of the song) maybe during this recording hyunsik has a schedule that's why he's not shown there. Thank you for reacting to btob if you can, try checking Heaven recording too hehe

My understanding is that they record till satisfaction, so that they won't have to return again.
There has only been one instance where Peniel had to return since
Peniel recorded before Eunkwang, but the pitch changed during Eunkwang's recording, so Peniel had to redo his part.
Usually Hyunsik does direct the rap parts too
But this time he's absent for some reason, maybe he wasn't available for the recording time.
Honestly I don’t blame them! I wouldn’t want to keep coming back to the recording studio either lol ahhh that’s interesting about Eunkwang and Peniel having to come back! I just find the process so interesting and each group does it differently

I remember peniel had to record again after they change the pitch of the song for eunkwang....

While hyunsik and minhyuk are shown producing and do really produce there are always other people producing with them like other producers, songwriters, mastering engineers, recording engineers. Hyunsik and minhyuk are shown monitoring a lot but not always especially during raps hyunsik isn't present every time. I'm sure since hyunsik produced the song he said which parts to use and had a discussion with the production team and edited the parts like he wanted. Also we just see a fraction of the whole process, for this recording they already have the guide song made by hyunsik. We don't see them producing the instrumental, the songwriting processor or the editing and I don't remember which video but it was shown that peniel had to redo his recording because there was a change in pitch after eunkwang did his part. They sometimes have to rerecord it there isn't a set process. In this video for example minhyuk and peniel changed the lyrics mid session which was so cool to see.
I love this kind of insight in the music making process it's just so interesting to watch. Especially with btob it's so clear that they're working together for more than 10 years, they know each others voices, strengths and weaknesses. Their dynamic is great and you can see that they're veterans now.
When you talked about that it was good too have peniel in the group as an native English speaker I remembered a vlog from peniels channel where they were on tour and he talked about how ilhoon came to his room so he could confirm ilhoons English lyrics.

That’s so fascinating!! I would love to see their process from beginning to end but I know that would be a huge long video 😂😂 I just find it so interesting how they do things because each group does it differently. Plus BTOB has so much experience in music so that makes it even more fascinating to me.
That’s why I get so upset when people talk about Peniel. He’s actually a huge asset to the group and I think he helps in his own ways. Loved this recording behind the scenes! Excited to get to Heaven as well!

I think Peniel is hit or miss for a lot of people especially his lines during the early days but he has something that I love in artists and that is his growth. Like he went from doing one line a song or a narration in the early days too 4u era in where he had multiple verses and also his verses are way better in quality now. He definitely improved and imo adds a lot to the group
