  • Four people were charged in connection to a University of South Florida student's fentanyl-related death. In a news conference Thursday, U.S Attorney Roger Handberg announced charges of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl resulting in death and additional counts of distributing fentanyl (over 40 grams) for Darius Gustafson, 20, Marquise Trant, 35, David Chudhabuddhi, 37, and Miguel Cintron, 36. The suspects are alleged to be part of a "sophisticated" drug ring, with Cintron working as their leader.

That's so true. I go to a methadone clinic and I'm disabled and have been on opiates since I was a toddler. It is unreal how many people who have severe pain issues - from congenital disability to people who have suffered severe accidents - are in methadone clinics now and/or getting what they used to/would get legitimately from a doctor years back. I see them all the time.

Since doctors no longer prescribe pain killers for people in Florida....of course a street drug would be developed. People need something to relieve their pain from surgeries, injuries and other medical conditions. This state lets you suffer...leaving you very little choice but to go out and find something to relieve the physical pain. I have constant pain in my leg and my doctor just leaves me to suffer.

Unfortunately, "Just Say No" really didn't work too well. It's a little more complex than that. It begins with Big Pharma creating and lying about a number of drugs and pushing it onto patients experiencing pain...insisting it wasn't addictive, despite knowing the exact opposite. Once many were prescribed the drug, became heavily addicted. Then when the FDA finally clamped down, the medicinally-made zombies, had no other choice but to seek it out via illegal sources.
Pharma broke the original law creating those who would ultimately do the same.
Once Big Pharma's recipes were out to cartels, it's now illegal...shame it wasn't the case for cartels like Purdue Pharma and Janssen.

Governor Ron DeSantis should be charged with four counts of second-degree homicide sighting culpable negligence. The governor could allow patients to fill out a drug statement form admitting that they are addicted to drugs and they request a drug card from the state of Florida. The drug card means that with your doctor's help you can get whatever meds you want, Percocet Xanax even desoxyn (pharmaceutical grade crystal meth). This would guarantee that the medications are completely clean. Florida doesn't offer a drug card program for drug addicts. Florida fails to protect the public. They could have a drug program like that. But they don't have that so they are culpably negligent. They could do more to protect the public but they won't. That is culpable negligence. They don't even want to compete with the drug dealers. Drug dealers are selling all of Florida's marijuana to tourists and spring breakers and lacing it all with fentanyl. That is also culpable negligence by Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida.

You got your facts backwards. Biden put in machines at the border to find the fentanyl when he 1st took office and it has been working but we need more. There are more machines waiting to be installed but it costs money and the Republicans are blocking the bill to pay for it. Trump has been blocking the border bill. But it is not the 1st time republicans killed a bill. In 2014 They killed their own bill Biden also doubled the number of border agents and judges. It all takes money and congress has to do it.

So you're saying that the drug problem in Florida, or any other state, only became a problem when President Biden was elected? So there wasn't a drug problem when Trump or any of the previous presidents were in office? My gosh, how naive can you be?

You definitely need a different approach to resolving your problems ! You do it to the elderly expense. One day you will be elderly in pain, or have had a traumatic event. You will go to hospital for relief and they will not offer you 1 pill for relief of your pain. Just imagine how elderly are suffering for you to protect juncies. It is disgusting!! One day

Did they voluntarily take the drug? Why would someone put such trust in an individual to take a drug not prescribed by a dr. So in actuality they are not a victim but a voluntarily taker.
