@@meanman6992 Man to TBH it might not be that hard to mod a tesla to go that fast or even faster just double the voltage and you double the power of electric motors. good quality motors can handle doubling or even tripling of voltage for short durations of use such as a drag race. I imagine if someone wanted and had the money to dump for one to ruin it as a daily car they could rewire some of the battery modules out of parallel and add them in series to do so. Electric motors have nearly limitless potential in regards to performance compared to combustion engines

ALL OF IT!! Seriously, does this expensive ratmotor have knock sensors to detect pre-ignition and instantly dial back timing advance ? Pre-ignition/ backfiring is what can wreck the motor,and can blow the supercharger right off the top of the engine. Next thing, you guys will be whooping out the windows, hitting the nitromethane injection bottom to go to plaid speed.. could use a " breather box/ oil blowby separator.. sweet build ! Sounds 😍

I had a 79 Monte Carlo with a 402 Big Block and drove it on the street on Methanol. People at stop lights hated the fumes. This was in the mid 1980s. Methanol makes a motor come to life!

That blowby “smoke” isn’t smoke it is water vapor. Ethanol puts off a shit load of water when it burns and some gets into the crankcase.

Yep, being under the Snap-On tent at summer nationals watching the guys test and tune the funny car after a rebuild. Every single one of them has a gas mask on, and I sure wished I did too.

Cleetus the anticipation, letdowns, and pure adrenaline made those series of videos amazing. Took me 3-4 days to watch the whole 3 parts and I can not wait for the burnouts. Not sure if they’re in here yet but I’m going to look now. Kevin is one hell of a tuner. I’ve never actually punched a key board and even been able to read a dyno graph that well. I even learned a ton from him. Our application is 100% N/A but the info here was amazing. Great job brother.

Lol cleetus's eyes when the methanol kicks in had me rolling. I remember my first time in the pits walking past an alcohol car when they did a blip and I couldn't see for a few minutes. If I do recall it was John Forces car.
Your first hit of methanol will always be a fond memory. I was five working alongside my dad in a race shop, I was in love the instant that beast shook the shop.
Did John Force race alcohol cars, too? I know the top fuel cars will absolutely blind you instantly, they sure did me the one big NHRA event I went to.
I got too hang out with John Force at heartland park. It was insane being right next to the car when they warmed it up. I thought watching them up close rebuilding the motor after each pass was the best part
@@dannyhernandez1296 Yes, watching the rebuild of the top fuel boats and then the start up was my favorite part. I have not seen the top fuel cars, and I live 30 minutes or so from Pomona. The racing is borring to me (can't stand watching any sports, even competitive shooting when friends or family do it....and I am a competitive shooter as well). I do watch cletus and the guys run, but that is only because it is part of the whole story of what happens off the track. My hobbies and the way I make a living are by working with my hands and building or repairing stuff. Those guys have a great job.

@@MinneGrommer Yeah reference to old school tuning method, you used to have a chip set for the rev limiter, you'd change the chip to change the limit. When he hit the Limiter Jeremy said put it on the chip, as in he hit the limiter.
He meant to write the tune parameters to the memory prom (programmable read only memory) chip.

There is no removable or writable chip in a Holley operating system. They are adjusting the software in real time.

Its rwhp × 1.x= crank hp x= being the drive train loss. A truck x can be as high as 30% loss modern 8 speed autos are usually around 12% so for a car like a this it would look like this

One thing to remember with running on alcohol. If it's on fire it may be hard to see the flames.
Worst part of meth, we nearly had a barrel blow outside our shop because of that. Luckily it put off enough heat to draw attention before the worst.
I’m no chemist but it would be great if someone could come up with an additive that didn’t rob power but got rid of that safety issue. Something that smokes when it burns or something to that affect

I think I read that there are additives now that make it burn a more visible color and keep that from being so scary. I don't know for sure, though.
