Early '80s "Hollywood" moment, having nothing whatsoever to do with Lucy (although I did drop by her house one day....never can recall if it's 100 or 1000 Roxbury)---anyway, toodling down Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills (quite near Lucy's house), I drove up alongside longtime talk show host/scenemaker, Virginia Graham. At a light, I commented on what a stylish, fabulous car she had (you expect me to remember? Nope!). Then, this: "It's a classic, but I like jazz!" Only in BH!! She then shared that she was on her way to her friend, "Joanie" Rivers' house!

It's a shame what they've done to the exterior. It used to be SO beautiful and full of charm! I always thought that house (in it's former state with the black shutters and window boxes) was one of the most beautiful celebrity houses because it looked so homey and inviting...even though it was technically a mansion. Now it just looks like your standard cookie cutter Beverly Hills house. I also found it incredible that there were no walls, gates, or fences in the front...right up until Lucy died.
