Sebenernya sistem belajar bahasa inggris di sekolah itu salah besar... beneran deh.. dari SD sampe SMA lebih fokus grammar grammar dan grammar...dari reading>writing>listening>speaking....... tapi gak efektif.... pernah baca dari artikel belajar bahasa asing seperti bayi yang fokus listening listening dan listening.... yaa sistem yang diajarkan di sekolah itu kayaknya gk efektif karna sibuk hafalin rumus grammar wkwk dan reading yang pronunciationnya parah....
Yap menurut aku ya memang gitu kenyataannya jadi aku ngerasa b.inggris itu cuman yang penting hanya sekedar ada aja, padahal sangat penting karena teknologi, bussiness, penerbangan, politik, financial dan ekonomi berpegang di bahasa satu ini.

I just wanna share my experience to reach English fluency, because I started from to the bottom, I didn't go to international school, I've never even been to an English speaking country before, but I can safely say that I'm quite fluent in English. Of course I've made a lot of mistakes, sometimes egregious ones, but I can hold a conversation in English with both other English learners and native speakers for hours on end. I went to public school all my life, and my English used be terrible. I learnt a little bit of English in school, especially grammar, but apart from that, I still didn't know how to speak. So I would not really give too much credit to my school, but I would definitely give huge credit to the internet when it comes to learning English. There are endless amount of resources on the internet that you can use to your advantage. However, learning English doesn't have to be a chore, you can watch or read English material that you're truly interested in. In that way, it can be very fun and enjoyable. There are also some websites in which you can meet other English learners or even native speakers, and later on you can speak with them on skype. That's what I've been doing for the last four years, that's how I've improved my speaking skills significantly. I've spoken to people from different countries and different walks of life. Not only have I improved my spoken English, I've also learnt a hell of a lot about other cultures in many parts of the world. As for writing skills, I don't generally write a comment on youtube, but when I do, it's usually in English, and I really put a lot of thoughts into it, not just rubbish hate comments. So it's actually a good way to improve writing skills. And yes when it comes to fluency, the basic recipe is strong will and consistency.

Iyasih, aku tinggal di Bali dan chance untuk berbicara bahasa inggris lebih besar apalagi kalau bergelut di dunia pariwisata atau sejenisnya. Orang2 sini bahkan yang tua2 pun sangat berani untuk ngomong bahasa inggris dan bikin sangat termotivasi untuk bisa lancar bahasa inggris juga :))

Cuman pengen cerita aja : aku g pernah expect masuk kelas internasional yang memang asli internasional, walaupun dulu wkt sma aku udah di sekolah internasional, tapi internasional yg ada di dorm dan englishnya lebih ke accent javanese english jadi yg g terlalu native gitu, trs bhs inggrisnya lebih dipakai untuk percakapan sehari-hari saja, bukan yg bener2 100% pakai bahasa inggris di pelajaran akademik dan juga buku2nya. Pengajaran msh pakai bhs indonesia. Situ memang aku so lucky karena lumayan dpt byk vocabulary, cuman diakademik kurang dpt, disamping itu aku sering gk ikut kegiatan disana krn sering ikut lomba2 jd tambah low lagi kemampuan bhs inggrisku. Sedangkan memang pelajaran akademik bhs inggrisnya jauh beda sm kehidupan sehari2. Nah, disitu aku baru kaget bgt masuk ke kelas yg matkul2nya semua pake english dan ada orang luar negeri yg memang cuman tau english aja. Kayak reading materi matkul gila susah bgt masuk disamping memang matkulnya susah². Terus cara ngomong orang luarnya yg cepet bgt dan aku g bisa nangkep apa yg diomongin mereka. Aku frustasi parah. Krn memang g ada persiapan buat melajarin english sblm itu, soalnya aku masuk ke kls internasional dan univ itu emang ya cuman lucky dan ngasal bgt. Ditambah kesibukan lain, memang semangat lagi down bgt, dan juga pembelajaran sistem daring yg tdk mendukung, jd susah juga buat bgt relasi pertemanan disamping itu juga akunya pemalu bgt dan insecurean. Jadi bener2 perkuliahan berantakan dan entahlah mungkin nasib kuliah disana terpaksa hrs berakhir krn kendala bhs dan matkul2nya yg susah banget banget ditambah lingkungan yg aku memang kurang bisa interaksi sm lawan jenis. Dari situ aku baru sadar emang hrs bener2 gigih bgt belajar bhs inggris, padahal aku udah ada di kelas internasional selama 1 setengah tahun, tp ternyata sgt tdk enough buat setidaknya listening dan readingnya bisa kehandle. Buat speaking jd sgt sgt susah. Jadi memang hrs gigih lagi belajar english dan hrs bnr2 dipelajarin lagi englishnya jg hrs byk terpapar english native. Yes. I totally agree with what Naila and Andovi said in this video, because, sometimes people's dream is just like, they want to speak English properly with good grammar and a good range of vocabulary, but I've got a growing sense that, they deliberately make a lot of excuses to not speak in English like 'I don't have time to speak in English or whatever the reason is'. Finally, the number one top priority is consistency, without it, we're done. Thanks, Naila for giving us this video, don't give up to hone our English skills!
The simple explanation is that guys who went to international school got a lot of exposure to english speaking world, like they were speaking english every day, every one around them are just speaking english, that they have no choice but being able to understand & speak english. So, to those who can’t afford international school, expose yourself to english as much as possible. The problem with this is that people tend to give up when they find it is difficult - well, it IS difficult. But those who keep pushing, they will eventually get to the same level of those who attended international level or even native. Well, even many native don’t really understand grammar, so, don’t be minder. I myself didn’t attend international school but I always try to expose myself to as much english resource as possible (books, articles, movies, etc), my english is still poor particularly when it comes to speaking lol but I never give up. Btw nice videos!

There is no way to get fluency speaking English, just keep trying and don’t ever give up and the most important thing is..having interest to learning English
To be honest it is much better if you put the English subtitle rather than Bahasa, not trying to show off but then it serves people how the structures are, what words you mentioned, etc

In my point of view you're completely right, and the thing is though most people in Indonesia kinda afraid of making wrong grammar, they get stuck on it and can't move on, and the way i gain myself in English is just by Listening into something that I'm interested most and try to connected it just for example I'm into coding and i Learn English through that way, try to connected it which is i have to learn more on that stuff in English so that i can kill two birds with one stone at once and indeed it's rough at first but for me it's a lot more fun and I just need to stick around on it because i want it to be true no matter what i'll come across just keep stick around on it, and l see a great result of my efforts that i did in the beginning though and I've never took any courses yet because nowadays i see there are a bunch of stuff that's available on youtube i just need more curious and kuota that's it all i need

Ada 1 grammar yg gua suka sengajain salah karena di Inggris juga mereka suka bgt pake ini wkwkwkwk.
Yaitu kalimat "I was sat when bla bla bla", "I was stood while bla bla bla" yg harusnya "I was sitting" dan "I was standing".
Too many synonyms in english I have searched a new vocabularies every single day *EVERY SINGLE DAY*
