In the conditions you are shooting in, the difference between the cameras in not that crucial. Sony a7v really would shine if filming in worse conditions or trying to do something more cinematic P.s. from what I see tho Iphone has a LOT of focus breathing, less bit depth, is less sharp, a flare from a light is disracting, autofocus is more distracting because its too fast, skin color is pretty bad, looks like it has a magenta shift towards green and auto iso overexposed the highlights on your face

I think for a phone camera it’s not shabby, but the stark comparison between this and a professional camera is huge. The iPhones colour grading is admittedly pretty terrible, I think it’s either the white balance or they just whacked up the yellow saturation lol. I think the AF is very distracting visually, but it’s the same as older cameras which had subpar autofocus too. It’s not bad, but it’ll never compare to a sony camera. It’ll for sure do for travel though, especially cause we all love lofi ;) and I’m not sure we’ve seen enough lofi jojo recently!
The iphone seems to fall short. It doesn't have as accurate color grading, being too warm, and it seemed to substitute iso for exposure. That and it appears to try and algorithmically repair the quality, leaving faint artifacts on sudden movements. Honestly, I can't say I like it.
iPhones apparently have the best video recording quality even comparing to a Samsung s24. It’s just that the comparison from a professional camera gives it more contrast in quality.
I don’t like iPhones for a long list of reasons, and because of my poorly designed car infotainment screen apple carplay was the only halfway decent choice (starlink on a ‘22 WRX) so I traded in my S22 Ultra for an iPhone 15 pro and I gotta say as awful as iOS is apple REALLY knows what they’re doing when it comes to cameras and audio quality. The camera on this phone is stellar and my AirPods Pro 2s sometimes sound better than my Sennheiser 560s headphones. I gotta give Apple credit where credits due. The glass on the screen sucks though. My keys scratched my phone screen up in only a couple months. Had to get a screen protector to stop the screen from becoming practically unusable. Never had that issue with the S22 Ultra. Samsung definitely uses higher quality glass

It’s nice seeing support for Apple. There are so many hardcore Samsung fans that all I ever see online is hatred for the iPhone. Sure Samsung might have better cameras and you can download APKs or whatever but you just can’t beat the feeling of an iPhone. The swipes are so smooth, the weight is perfect and unboxing them is unbelievably satisfying.
If you want to use the iPhone 16 pro max to record another video but you’re worried about not getting everything in frame, you could use the 0.5 zoom setting (basically zooming out) and then crop the video in editing!! The quality of the back cameras is really good though, I have the 15 and even that is a massive improvement from the older models, and it’s really up there in professional territory in terms of focus and functionality
When you come to the USA stop by Florida! We can do some "florida man" ASMR.... alligator sounds, guns, offroading etc lmfaooo 😂😂 I actually really like the camera can you do the front camera I'm interested to see how different it looks. I use the front cam on a 14 Pro and it does pretty good!

I would recommend the Blackmagic Camera app for the iPhone to fix some of the issues named above.
