...yet again I apparently already have the yellow sports one somewhere in my house.
a TCM-21 or a TCM-323/353 could be made to look like star lords walkman( though it would need more work to get the 300 series ones looking like star lords) there are also some on Etsy and there is also a toy I've seen people convert into a more accurate prop. really depends on how much work you wanna throw at it.
I also am looking and some Sanyo cassette players could achieve that look.
The only problem is that tcm600 is MONO while tps-l2 is STEREO
Instead of butchering the milestone TCM 600 just spend the money and get the real deal. If you add up your time and materials you come out almost the same and still do not have the real deal.

3D Printed Props is there a easy way to do it to make the Walkman
Joseph Hwang I really looked at a lot of vids and tutorials. Some made them out of foam, some cardboard. I saw a few out of wood even. But why of getting the toy one on Amazon or getting the actual model which is crazy expensive I think this is the easiest. A little paint and glue. Finding the model is tricky though. I picked out. But search. I saw someone who made an awesome one out of cardboard. It looked great. Let me know how it goes. Cheers.
Hey, I did a lot of looking around on TH-cam and found people doing all kinds of things from making them out of foam, cardboard and even wood. Aside from buying the actual walkman, which is crazy expensive, what I did is about the easiest. Just some paint and glue. You really don't even have to fill that one part I did. This model is a little tricky to find though. I have seen some people just get the toy version and just weather it too. Check out this guy. Wouldn't it be easier to take a WM-3 and turn it into a TPS-L2 as both essentially look the same except for the black finish and silver hot line button instead of orange.

This is a sin. You don't paint any walkman, ever. Destroying a piece of history like this so you can dress up like star lord. These can't be bought for that price anymore because people are doing what you did.

PS. For vinyl letters you can use low tack painters tape as transfer paper for the letters.

I resent the fact that you nerds overvalue this piece of trash Walkman because of some shit movie. If you're going to overvalue Sony items then do it for the right reason. Such as the TPS-L2 being the first "Walkman". Even though it is trash, just like its predecessors. People have no sense of reason. Lord Nerd Boy had this in a movie? Oh, wait up while I call the Antique Road Show. Go buy a WM-2 and actually have a Walkman that looks cool and isn't overvalued by nerds with no rent to pay.
Why don’t you just cover the glass and spray the whole think silver then hand brush it with blue after the paint dries spray clear gloss then buy the specific decals and place them on the right areas ?
You get a better finish by spaying. If I brushed it there would be brush lines. I did buy the decals and put them in the correct place. Maybe I'm not sure what you mean. But there's aways different ways to do things right. :) Thanks.
