I was talking to some guys and some engines are worth well over $10,000!!
I know a guy that has close to 50 grand in an engine and it sounds like it too but he runs the nationals all over the country
My cousin in law Tommy runs bash for cash (and won in 2019) and runs blizzard bash has at least 30 thousand in the engine he puts in those cars. He's got a spare as well.
Yeah they build reinforced engine crates, makes it easy to swap them from car to car and helps keep them from being destroyed (holes in the block or shit bending)
Don’t think car number 14 has a dent on it from this derby
Why is it my home derby seems to be the only one where no one in the heavy/mod/weld class, whatever you call it, don't want to hit hard. I see videos from all across the country of this class actually being entertaining but my home derby its a 2 hour sandbagging endurance race where anyone that hits gets immediately ganged up on for having the audacity to crash.

I'll never understand why cars are allowed to have those scoops on the back. Seems dangerous to me.
They call it a wedge and that's why a lot of places won't allow it.
Because they can’t drive! They only have 1 plan, to take out the opponents steering for a fast win. All the years I have driven in derby’s we never had to do that! We trashed our cars till there was nothing left, or they just stopped running, nothing fancy, you were lucky to win a couple hundred, a goofy trophy but we had a lot of fun , and made a lot of new friends! Nahh they can keep these way over priced box of steel! They really are not cars anymore

@@lenarmstrong4075 I started in the late 80's and at that time it was basically find an old car, get it running, gut it and run it. Most times it took a front loader to put it on the trailer at the end of the night because there was nothing left of it. I don't believe I ever spent more than $800 to buy the car and get it to the derby! It was all about going out there, having a few beer and tearing some shit up. We weren't in it for the money, we were out there to have a great time with friends.
It's true times have changed to build a cheap car now it's around 2500, no one wants to total it in one derby
These heats are always the worst ones to watch…
