Einfach super!
    Regards from Germany, be Welle, ray.

    I think the snafu with the front motor mount location was a blessing in disguise ! These mounts add so much style, they just blend it all together. The trans mounts should do nicely, most guys would have just laid a bead around the outside of the top plate but the inner weld will add a ton of strength. I love how your Aussie accent floats in and out! lol beautiful work Jordan.

    Finding it hard enough to build a sidecar for my bicycle,haven't been this out my depth since I learn how to swim when I was eight..loved the frame build..

  • @fonhollohan2908
    @fonhollohan2908 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Its good to see that you flipped the frame on its side to weld on the horizontal not every one does that normally they will just do a vertical down weld, which is not wise to do.. Welding on the horizontal or on a flat surface is always a stronger weld especially when you welding up frame rails. I think your rear mounts are going to be fine.. Nice work Jordan. If that don't get your juices flowing nothing will. COOL

    Looks great, your attention to detail is excellent.
    One suggestion I might make is for the gearbox mount/cross member, a X member with a cage around the drive shaft would improve flex and protect your ass from a loose shaft.

    Hey Man, that's pretty cool. I make my brackets like you guys, but without the luxury of a plasma cutter. An idea if I may.... You can always link the G/box mounts L+R with a gusset underneath. I'd also weld inside the rails a bit of 8mm or 10mm bar strip... and thread it.
    Then you're not reaching in with nuts and spanners. And here's a tip. Mill scale comes off best with a seaweed/stripping/polishing (whatever you call it) disc I've found. Thanks for the vid fellas. I like what you're doing. Cheers from Sydney.

    Goes to show that you don't need a cnc to build great looking engine mounts, as for the gearbox mounts, just weld some straight bar under the present mounts.

    im suprised you didnt widen the frame in the middle to give you the space you need as your legs could go each side of the engine or couldnt you mount the floor on top of the frame then you could have more beefy mounts for the gearbox. as i doubt 3"to 4" higher foot plates would make little diffrence if you look at the old photos some drivers where way up in the air. all youd have to do when you put the engine in is lower it and slide it backwards the fastern the mount bolts from underneath by welding nuts on to the gearbox mouting holes
