That looks pretty nice especially never doing it before. Stop beating yourself up. You just help me to know what to look out for that I would have never thought of. Gonna subscribe see if you have any leather butt stock, and forend stock wraps 👍

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad I was able to help you out at least, though I'm definitely one of my biggest critics when it comes to making stuff. Hopefully you find something else that helps out, but I haven't done a forend wrap yet. I might just have to find one of my other "projects" that needs one though. Lol

@@philbillyoutdoorsdiy3675 haha I have a Rossi r92, and I want to make a butt stock and forend stock, so I'm looking for content. Ideas, be keeping an eye out for any projects me or my son may like to try

This would look good on a single-shot shotgun intead of those funky plastic buttplates.

That's actually what this, I just mostly use it with the 45 colt chamber insert. But I agree, a lot of the plastic butt plates look out of place.

it is great idea change to leather buttpad , brass is shining but easy leave mark. Rubber is too popular. Plastic is ugly and will crack . Leather is perfect.

Thank you! You can always just oil the leather when it starts to dry out, it should last much longer than me.

,,... it's certandly not perfect... ". ,, it looks good for now..." OMG 🙈 A beginner tries to teach beginners. No Sir, Sorry. You are working like a boy scout.
At first. Use sharp tools only,, not dull or broken ones.
2.) Put a piece of trashy leather under the leather you have to punch. It makes cleaner holes and spare the the underneath.
3.) Sand the edges very fine, from 180 grit in steps untill 360 or more in one direktion only.
4.) I'm wearing gloves, when I work with ,,Fiebigs". I don' like to look like a sewer cleaner ...
Last but not least: Never use leather oil for tanned leather. Shoe cream or high quailtiy leather grease will work so much better.

Appreciate the tips, but you watched a video by a channel with hillbilly right in the name. You want perfect leather work go watch a Joe Melling video. Thanks for the comment though, it helps with the almighty algorithm.
