According to some reviewers this is the best sounding digital piano so far. I have the "old" model E.S.8, had it for an year, or so, no regrets going Kawai. Classical music is my preferred approached on this E.S.8 model.
Hi Dublin. Did you get the three pedals and if so, did they come in the stand as shown? I'm not sure about the options. Would you recommend just the damper pedal the piano comes with, or the extra two as well? Thanks for your help!
@@amandajstar Hi amandajstar Yes I got the 3 pedals and they are part of the bottom piece of the stand as shown. So, I don't really have any use for the left 2 pedals. But the damper pedal it comes with, while fine, can move around a little. More importantly for me though, was that the stand for the 920, while it looks fine, does not look anything as nice as it does when you see it as in the video i.e. with the 3 pedal wooden piece along the bottom. Without that piece going across the stand looks a bit bare. So I am glad I got it purely for the additional optics that it gives, make it more a full piece of furniture. Well worth it for that in my opinion. See a pic of the 3 pedal stand here - www.thomann.de/ie/kawai_f_302_b.htm
Thanks for demonstrating the equalizer function. I found that especially helpful - even without the lost video footage. That function alone gives the piano a lot of versatility, doesn't it?
you should add something about the difference when you take the sound direct and when you use a good mike to gather the sound. Please pay attention that you don't get into the saturation of digital recording like in this video, where it showed some distortion.
Agree, it would be good to have both a microphone recording as well as a line recording. A variation of the "proof of the pudding is in the eating," is "the proof of a piano is in the hearing." :)
Hi Louise, nice job. This is one of my favorite standards that I have played for many years. A great version is by Oscar Peterson, a latin beat in a trio setting. You can find it on his album/CD entitled "Another Day" Harry
Do you sell ES920 bundles with the stand and pedals as shown? Separately, any idea why the audio sounds like it's clipping when playing loud sounds, such as at 3:32 ?
We typically do, but the ES920 is out of the stock at the moment. I'm hoping we will get more in soon! It is clipping-- I used the line out from the ES920 to a zoom recorder, and I didn't notice the issue until after I uploaded it.
Honestly, I haven't played an es110 in quite a while, so I don't think I can make a judgment on that. But the ES920's key mechanism didn't seem noticeably loud to me.
@@BayAreaPianoMasters Ah, that makes sense though I don't know why my local Kawai dealer didn't have one. Guess I'll just have to wait a little longer. :-)
Thanks for the demo, Louise! I think the interest level in this model is high, given the dearth of supply in the U.S. and Canada. Just FYI, you say the price is $1,599 plus tax (which sounds right), but the San Mateo website has it listed at $2,499 (as of 12/24/2020).
Thanks for pointing that out! The MSRP is $2499 plus tax, and the MAP pricing is $1599 plus tax. I'll have to check with my manager to see why we just have the MSRP on our website.
Great Vídeo 🎼✔️Great sound piano just for Home and I Could say ...for stage too! 🔌❗ Thanks so much Pretty Eyes. PD. Greetings from Ireland. Got this myself in early December on a return to piano after a few years, great piano sounds, so happy with the purchase.
So glad that you're enjoying your new piano! Thanks for watching our video.

@@dublinsix Thanks very much, I appreciate that input and will look at the link. Cheers!

Agreed! I like how the equalizers are so easy to adjust.
Love The sound...
Agreed! I enjoy the sound samples for this piano too

Thanks for your feedback. I didn't have access to a mic during filming, so I recorded the piano through the line out.

Is the pedal placement similar to a Kawai ca models and acoustics , in terms of ergonomics?
All the things you are..... very nice.
You got it!
Lovely video 😁

Thanks. Which is the song starting at 3:30?

Where can i buy the stand
We have the ES920 stand in stock in black and in white! Email me at specials@sanmateopiano.com

What is clipping? Is it a serious concern/deal concer? Will I notice it?
How is this compared to Yamaha P-515?
I haven't tried that model yet
I wonder the same thing....I'm also torn between the Yamaha P-515 and this new ES920. I'm dying to see someone make a comparison video on these two.
@@enigmas6210which one did you get?
Wow, so in three years price growing for $ 300 ? Today day in USA everywhere is $ 1899.
Are noisy keys (similar to ES110) included or shall I pay extra? ;-) On a serious note - are the keys as loud as in ES110?

How did you get one? I didn't think they had shipped to North America yet.
We're an authorized Kawai dealer, and we got this at the beginning of December so we could do this video and have one in the store for demos.

the only think I don't like about this piano is the mini drum roll after each and every key press. I can even hear it whilst wearing headphones.
Have a face to he voice is always nicer than just a voice over. Lovely review. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! I usually do record on camera, but tried something different for this one. I'll try to be on camera for the next one
