As a St. Lucian who became a birder here in the US where I live and work, hearing one of the guests mention his work in St. Lucia on our Amazona Versicolor/St. Lucia Parrot was a pleasant surprise.
I've never seen a St. Lucia wren, so I'm excited to add that little bird to my life list the next time I go back. I do wish they had named it the Iyanola wren, though, after one of the indigenous names of the country. Dominica has the newly named endemic Kalinago wren, which is a tribute to their native people. I would love for our St. Lucian wren to have such a cool name tied to history.

I wanted to buy seed for a bird feeder while on a trip in France for my families garden... the prices were outrageous. A medium sized pack of bird seed was around 4 euros, while the 'for human consumption' alternatives were just as pricey. Kind of understand the disparity in bird feeders in UK gardens and French gardens. Unrelated rant but needed to mention due to the vids conclusion. Hoping for a good finch season, would be great if some bramblings will turn up in my area, hoping that I will finally manage a British Hawfinch.

Hi, Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, does not have any finches, but in Japan 🇯🇵, there are four known finches : Brambling Finches, Green Finches, Siskin Finches, and Redpolls Finches.

@@BadgerlandBirding fingers crossed!! That'd be awesome. I've never seen one before. I do use platform feeders too. Lol! Thanks for hosting this every year. I look forward to it. Ever since the super flight of Red Polls, I'm hooked on learning as much as I can on the winter patterns of all these finches.
