    Great stuff.............. honestly, i think this is one of the best sounding synths, period, from any era / price range. There's just something so delicious about those oscillators all having slightly (or not so slightly) different settings.

    Are you plugged into a space echo also? I’m just curious.. or is it just running straight into an amp. Also, i know nothing about this kind of stuff?? Are you pre-imputing the sounds from a midi into the synth?

    • @MikaForsling
      @MikaForsling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the signal are going through the echoes, and an sequencer are triggering the notes in the synth via MIDI!

    could you please make a video, about how you program the perfourmer, wich polymode ect.. and what notes do you give the perfourmer? are this accords? or single notes?

    • @MikaForsling
      @MikaForsling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Danny, for this piece I was just randomly triggering notes on the Push 2, which I use as sequencer. So the sequenced loop is just a hell of a lot of single notes triggering the Performer in Poly mode..

    Just a quick one, could you please tell me what works best for you to sequence and play on this beautiful sounding machine?

    • @MikaForsling
      @MikaForsling  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keith Haggerty, I’m using Ableton and a Push for sequencing! The interface of the Push is both intuitive and fun for building long sequences. It’s easy to play chords and record the midi notes, or use it as a regular sequencer and program single note stuff which I like!

  • @Rafaelfo.
    @Rafaelfo. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m really interested in how you compose your sequences like this one. The rhythms are just the right mix of random and repetitive. Is it all programmed or do you use a rhythm generator / arpeggiator? Excellent music!

    • @MikaForsling
      @MikaForsling  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In this piece all notes are programmed. The different octaves and filter settings of the Perfourmer’s four voices, in combination with the long sequence, makes it a bit hard to hear how it repeats. When I programmed the sequence(if I remember correctly), I was just tapping around pretty randomly on my Ableton Push, and then afterwards changed the notes by hand until it sounded good. So it looks like a cluster of short notes in the sequencer. Hope this makes sense!

      @@MikaForsling Thanks for explaining - I find understanding the process makes the music even more engaging. Your syncopated rhythms are inspiring! ASCENDING is one of my favourite synth works on TH-cam.

    Are you controlling the CR-78 with a WS-1 switch?

    • @MikaForsling
      @MikaForsling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It came along a single Roland tap switch when I bought it and now I use a CHD controller for sync and programming (which I don't really like). The CR-78 is a real pain to program and it never gets as intended, but that´s a big part of its charm..
