I feel like your main problem is that you play too safe at campfires. Resting so often means that you miss upgrading your key cards; so you take more damage, causing you to need to rest even more often. Have some more faith in yourself; you don't need to rest at half health on the first floor. Far better to make your deck able to stomp everything before they hit you.

That daily was just fucking atrocious. I beat the first boss and lost to the first 2nd floor Elite. Defect is already tricky, and that daily made it just beyond annoying
I know you've been given this tip in the past, and that you're quite busy with recording, but it would really benefit you to just take your time a little more. Plan your hand before playing it, decide how cards fit in your deck and even if you make a mistake, you can use that for future reference. Also the defect really struggles with blocks, there are very few substantial commons in its class, they should be prioritised.

Try frost build. It is good if you take focus . And you should with any orb build except plasma .

Upgraded tempest gives X+1, so would have worked. But seems NL keeps forgetting his cards aren't upgraded.
