Eye-tracking studies help us to dismantle the myth of the blank facades and cube like buildings. Now we know that ornament actually binds people socially through fractal ordering (after all we are made of fractals). In retrospective it was obvious Gropius buildings looked like bunkers and tranches. But that sort of reality check is hard when you are imbued with overconfidence. One must have strong critical thinking skills because the trailer is made in a way which normalizes sickness. The belief in tabula rasa is lunacy by this point, especially with the advances in genetic sequencing and the understanding that evolution only builds on top of what is known… never from a blank piece of paper. Modern buildings don’t age well, they don’t transform through time. Look at Brazilia - more zombie than it is alive.

I'm from Brazil and I'm studying architecture and urbanism, and all of my teachers love modernism from the heart - even the Brazilia's architect: Oscar Niemayer, and others like Le Corbusier. I agree with ALL of your points, I've come here to get info about bauhaus. There is a work that I'm doing about it, but as you can see, I'm not able to criticize this school once my approval depends on my teachers. In the other hand, I'm happy to see someone with clear thougths here in the coments. See ya.
