Your host family is so sweet to drive you around to errands and take care of you like they do! I hope you never forget this experience! Also you look beautiful for homecoming!
sofia, i have a question for you! when you go to stores like ulta and shoe stores and such, is it you who pays or your host family? *hope this isn’t too personal!*
She said in the video that she spent too much money so I'm guessing she pays everything and I also think maybe her family sends money every month for food and other basic necessities
Yeah I’m also wondering where’s the boundary. I’ve seen a few other exchange year videos and some even went on vacations with their host families and I wondered if the host family paid for them.
rhys our homecoming is weird, there’s the a competition for homecoming queen king and after that it’s the after party which is held at a club and I can buy alcohol (people don’t care about minors drinking,I mean,it’s Europe so not that big of a deal)
maria bodea Dude, stop. I hate when Europeans try to act like Europe is this enlightened, bohemian place that just allows everything People care about those under a designated age limit drinking in Europe as much as they do in America, particularly if it’s on school grounds
Reed bro, nobody said that, the after parties are held at clubs,I simply stated that it’s normal for this to happen (although it depends on the community and people don’t get shit drunk)
Reed Most of Europe has a younger drinking age and is known to have a more relaxed attitude towards minors drinking alcohol. It’s common in many places for kids to have a glass of wine at dinner with their families from the time they are 13, 14, etc. This doesn’t happen in America typically, if at all. What Maria said was just the cultural reality of the situation; the perception of having a few drinks is different. As to why that personal offended you and made you come at her I can’t say. She was in no way trying to act like Europe was more “enlightened and bohemian” than the US, wtf? She was just noting the difference in customs and how the homecoming dance in her community is typically a different type of event, particularly the after party. You need to chill out.
I hope you show your gratitude to your host family for everything they do for you. Driving you on errands. And dropping you to school EARLY in the morning for cheer practise
Cutiemaan I mean it’s kind of a thing a good person would do is be grateful, but at the end of the day the host family IS supposed to do stuff like this.. I mean they signed up for it lmao
10:53 I’ve heard people having this problem. What I do is I meet up with some fun people before a party. (Doesn't have to be much I would have at least 4) and then we just hype each other up before the party and when we’re there we just start dancing. (To be like the first to start) and the rest will follow. That way you create something that you called 'the middle'.
I live in Canada and there aren't homecomings or proms... usually. But for some reason this year my school has one next Friday so leave me any tips you guys have!!
my homecoming is fri/sat and Im really excited. nobody asked me and hopefully if someone does they don’t draw attention to it, and my friends want me to ask a guy and its a whole mess. I hope you had a good time Sofia! 💕💕
i sit next to a girl from spain in my art class and she’s really cool, something that i notice that a lot of foreign exchange students say “i don’t know” all the time hahah😂
I went to hoco last year, my school doesn't stick with the formal theme so we had to dress from the 70s. No one showed up since it was at school. Nobody is gonna show up to hoco this year cuz we're all complaining bout the theme and location
MOOSE SOCKS me and my friends always joke around like that. Then again not everyone’s comfortable with it, so I hope she knows they’re probably joking ❤️
are u from sweden? bc in america it's kind of our culture to "not give a f" & be really loud & say whatever. it didn't even cross my mind that she was being rude, don't worry she definitely didn't mean it rudely & sofia didn't interpret it like that either haha all love :)
At my school it's mostly just the 7th and 8th graders that go to homecoming. And obviously royalty. My school has 7th and 8th and then the high school students (I'm a freshmen). So that's why theres 7th and 8th at homecoming. And it's also not a formal
Hi, how old are you? I'm thinking about doing an exchange program and wondering about the age requirements as I'll be turning 19 next year. Which program did you go through?
Did you cheer at Mountain View High School Sep. 14th? Bc then that means you were with me OMFJSJF the bull dogs played yesterday and I wanted to see if you were there but I don’t think you were
How old are you? I really want to live in America for a year too, so I was kind of wondering what the average age of being an exchange student was:) (i’m from Norway)
WhyIsMyNameSara Homecoming is a dance after the homecoming football game (next day) Homecoming is for all high school grade levels 9-12 & Prom is only for Seniors. Basically their last big dance of their high school career. Sometimes 11th graders can also attend, but not all schools allow that.
Your friends did a great job you looked beautiful

I love how soft your voice is
sofia, i have a question for you! when you go to stores like ulta and shoe stores and such, is it you who pays or your host family? *hope this isn’t too personal!*
HomemadeJoy I’m guessing she pays for it since it’s not the host families responsibility to buy her clothes, and makeup.
i was wondering the same thing lol
I was thinking about that too
She said in the video that she spent too much money so I'm guessing she pays everything and I also think maybe her family sends money every month for food and other basic necessities
Yeah I’m also wondering where’s the boundary. I’ve seen a few other exchange year videos and some even went on vacations with their host families and I wondered if the host family paid for them.
at my homecoming people kept grinding on each other and alcohol was snuck in and that doesn’t make for a good combination
rhys that’s what makes it fun
rhys our homecoming is weird, there’s the a competition for homecoming queen king and after that it’s the after party which is held at a club and I can buy alcohol (people don’t care about minors drinking,I mean,it’s Europe so not that big of a deal)

I am so glad you got to experience an American Homecoming. It looks like you had a great time.
You also have winter formal! Don’t miss out on that!
Carissa Rizzy not all schools have a winter formal so maybe that’s why she didn’t mention it. but yes definitely another dance to go to as well
in scotland we have more an actual dance, we learn them in pe so it’s all rehearsed and runs smoothly! x
Timoty Swerige that’s what we had in our school this year!

Hi can you do a video of your cheer team and you guys doing stunts and stuff?
2:55 she said tarte tape shape😂 but still love you
Can someone tell me the difference between homecoming and prom
WhyIsMyNameSara
Homecoming is a dance after the homecoming football game (next day)
Homecoming is for all high school grade levels 9-12 & Prom is only for Seniors. Basically their last big dance of their high school career.
Sometimes 11th graders can also attend, but not all schools allow that.
Are you going to get the iPhone 11
Hi. Are you close to your host family just as your family at Home?
Yumi Lee I mean....she has barely been there for a month so the obvious answer to that is probably not
Can you make more cheer vidsss
