  • Rising sea levels have brought increased flooding to low-lying coastal areas around Rhode Island in recent years. Volunteers have taken thousands of photographs of local areas flooded by king tides and storms and uploaded them to MyCoast.org/ri, an online database that tags the photos with tidal and weather information and locates them on a map.
"MyCoast in Action" features Wenley Ferguson, Director of Habitat Restoration for Save The Bay, and Teresa Crean, AICP, Director of Planning, Building and Resilience for Barrington, describing how they use MyCoast photos in their work. Thais Fournier, Coastal Resilience Specialist with the URI Coastal Resources Center and Rhode Island Sea Grant, describes how to use the MyCoast portal for uploading your photos.
