Thank you for this insight. I'm 39 and almost finished with my associates for pre-engineering. I was curious what the P.E. was all about and now I have an idea. I'm never going to give up and definitely want to work my way towards this license eventually. Thank you once again for all the information.
@brandonmanuel2842 Hey there! We hear you loud and clear! Louisiana pride is strong, and Cajun culture is truly something special. Thanks for sharing your love for your home state with us!
Ive heard time and time again the EIT is easier than the PE... (Im a EEE) and after studying the last couple months the PE is WAYYYY harder. not sure why everyone says the opposite.
Yes, foreign citizens can apply for PE licensure in Texas without a social security number. However, you will need to provide proof of your immigration status, such as a copy of your visa or passport. Here are other states that allow foreign citizens to apply for PE licensure without a social security number: California Florida Illinois Maryland Massachusetts Minnesota Nevada New Jersey New York Oregon Pennsylvania Virginia Please note that the requirements for PE licensure vary from state to state, so it is important to check with the state board of engineering in the state where you want to be licensed to ensure that you meet all of the requirements. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I’m in a state that allows people to take the exam after 12 years of working in the industry. I never went to school for engineering, but I’ve been doing HVAC design for 22 years. I’m hoping that I can use a prep course and materials to work backwards and fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
That's great. You should check out the Live Online and OnDemand options at PPI. Live Online courses are a great option if you’d like a thorough review and extensive practice with the guidance and mentorship of a live instructor. OnDemand courses offer the same great review and practice, but with recordings of the lectures that you can watch on your own schedule. Check out all of PPI’s prep course offerings here: ppi2pass.com/online-prep-courses
Thanks for the info, really appreciate that, i want to ask, is FE and PE just used in US only or it is world wide acceptable ? like API certification, thanks
Hello Enrique. We are trying to find more updated information on this, however in the meantime here's some information on it: www.reddit.com/r/engineering/comments/4rqatr/current_states_that_have_passed_or_are/
My exam is in April. I am a full time civil engineer (45-55)hrs. A Mimi of two kids 6 yr and 1.5 yr. I did not have time to study at all. I am trying to study now. What should I focus on and should I reschedule it
You should try to find employment that provides it. In some instances, it can be a PE in another firm that you worked on projects with, but I would recommend you ask this question to the State Board in the State where you will practice.
@@PassthePEExam Thank you very much for the reply. I am in California. Let me check the state's requirements. I highly appreciate the work you are doing for us.
Thanks for the info. My question is: how to stay focused with all the distractions around us while studying for PE? Also sometimes I feel that I can’t remember anything! How to overcome those type of feelings? Thanks again for all the valuable information you are sharing.
