    Millennium law grad here.
For all 3 years I had a laptop, 3 tablets and Bic pens.
Guess which was the go-to thing I used for taking class notes.😂

Hi! I'm a 2L. My best advice is to expect to fill up those notebooks fast and prepare for that. My friends that used notebooks ended up with multiple notebooks filled with notes for one class. I used legal pads for paper notes and I always used at least five for one class during one semester. I personally prefer the legal pads because there's no point in getting something super aesthetic when I'm not even going to use it to study later (because those notes will be condensed into an outline).
Also, some things may not be essential for you, and you'll figure it out as you go. I rarely use highlighters, and I have never purchased a whiteboard. I did just fine. It honestly depends on you and what works for you. But take some of the things people list as "essentials" with a grain of salt.
Some of the stuff you bought might be given to you for free. For example, I got tons of free paper flags from my law school, to the point that I haven't even used all the ones that I bought yet. Watch out for that, especially during orientation if you haven't done that yet.
The only things I would consider absolutely essential are anything that helps you study in an ergonomic position. That can be bookstands, laptop stands, a wireless keyboard and mouse, a new chair, whatever. You will spend hours sitting and you will suddenly get back pain that you're going to have to mitigate. These things help with that and thus you focus better because your neck and back hurt less. I know I said to take things that are "essential" with a grain of salt but your neck and back are genuinely essential.

I’m not in law school but right now I’m finishing my last 2 semesters at my community college then graduating with my associates of science & arts then transferring to Ferris to finish getting my bachelors. My major is Human Resources, my minor is Political Science and my 2 Concentrations are Organization and Leadership. Then I will have to find another college to go to get my masters. I have to have a vertical layout monthly/weekly planner. I love watching law school videos.
