My absolute favorite Split Enz song - and I love seeing the interactions, straight up, no cutaways, between the band members. Eddie always seems like he'd always be fun to play with - can't have had too many cross days in his life, I think. That smile is infectious.
A lovely little casual tavern .. no frills ... no pomp ... no auto-tune, nothing fake, just pure soulful music, gobs of natural talent, delightful camaraderie. Love this so much
Always been in my top 5 fav since the 1st time i ever heard it. And this clip is bloody brilliant. Superb simplicity , captured. The genius of Neil Finn just leaves you in a far better place . I LOVE his world, and wished like hell he and all his sound lived next door ! There dead-set needs to be a statue of him somewhere , perhaps his home town , now , so that he can appreciate how his music is captured and locked into all our lives. His soundtrack is truly mesmerizing. Thanks SO much for this footage .
Thank you Peter Green for your magnificent videos on Skyhooks and Crowded House. Loved just about everything you've uploaded. I'm lucky enough to be one of the Countdown generation and remember clearly Skyhooks first appearance on Countdown in 1975. At that first performance I was 8-years-old and I was hooked. I was too young to go out and see a live show but Countdown and Molly made up for it. Now you're bringing back childhood memories vividly. Thank you again Peter keep up the great work ✌🏻🇦🇺😁
thank you and we certainly have uploaded a lot LOL. Yes Trudy & Liz on this page were in the Countdown audience for that show. This Sunday , my birthday May 11th is also the Enz first time on Countdown...49 years ago. Anyway thanks for the kind words, hopefully more videos to come.
My all time favorite Neil Finn song across all bands. I would have loved to see them in such an intimate setting! Bass player having issues and the drummer is TOO heavy handed
Brilliant. No big production stuff just pure talent. Neil's best song of all in my humble opinion. Pretty good recording for an am cam too (I assume it was am cam video) This would have predated mobile phone cameras. Good to see Neil, Tim, Mike, Eddie and Noel in a 'back to their roots' pub gig. . Who is the other guy - sax player?
Give the guy a break he was still at Piha recording day and night the crowded house together alone album ...jumped in the car drove to Auckland, on the stage and back to Crowdies for more recording.

@@petergreen2534 are you 49? very good 🎂💗
So cool
And here I am now wishing there was a Rob Gillies sax solo at the end 🎷
they'd be lucky to even move on that tiny stage (:
Bring back 1979 !
Awesome, thanks for posting Peter. This song never fails to hit the ❤
Our pleasure, most of the applause should go to Marky. He puts in the hours on these.
Great upload !
This means so much to me ❤
😊
excellent-our pleasure.

Is the Sax Player Rob Gillies?
Yes Robert (think early Enz to 1977)
I soooo love Message to my Girl! That was brilliant! Pity Tim had his back to the camera for most of the song though!
I love the way he just popped up to song his beautiful harmonies though! 🎶💜🎶
the worlds smallest stage.... elbow bumping etc, fun though I like those intimate musical moments.
Far out... does Neil know this exists I wonder
Yes he does, I usually send him bits and pieces..
Good on ya man!
This is gold
Neil is singing flat :(
