Wow! I remember that accident. When some of these large groups of motorcycles hit the curvy winding types of roads they often act as if the road is for their sole use and enjoyment only. I've seen them blocking intersections and blocking other vehicles from passing them. Add in drugs or alcohol and it's a funeral waiting to happen. I'm not anti motorcycle by no means - I rode a motorcycle year round in NY - thru snow, ice and rain. Didn't get my first car or car license till a year later.
Roadside inspections with violations do not compare to a judge or jury trial where specific evidence is introduced to determine guilt. It's not D.O.T.'s fault for a not guilty verdict which is what you are implying.
this happened in NH, , the way you see some bike rides ride in new england its no surprises this kid got off because of the bikers actions. You'd be surprised how functional a fent and coke addict could be, but drunk on a bike you can be sloppy, hopefully that kid withdrew in jail haha
