@@DOHCCordia You might read up on their submarine capability, and I wouldn't guess that they are alone. Somewhere around the world there is 140 ships in this exercise. One submarine can have 150 nuclear warheads, it doesn't matter if it can fight or not, it's how quick it can unload it's weapons and then Nobody will care much after that.

I don't but my father was on USS Canberra and I can tell you with confidence that we were perfectly safe. Had they tried anything there was an American sub VERY close to USSR......SO close that Moscow would have been GONE before they even knew missiles were on the way. Project Barbara was named for my mother, it mandated that those who initiated a Russian missile launch would not live long enough to know if their missiles had hit their target. I am obviously very proud of my father.

That was because US and its allies thought that Cuba would immediately attack the US with the nukes placed because the US launched the invasion on the bay of pigs which fidel castro said that the nukes can be placed in Cuba to deter another attack.
