from MDM point of view they were trying to stop Matt from being a 'softie' so they were roleplaying as roadmen. doesn't really give much content to PD but it's content for them

So even if you're RPing something for Matt. You can also at least give a tiny bit to cops that are also trying to RP. Which is also always something they talk about. Giving everyone content and also making content for themselves.
I would argue that, however brief, it did give them content, hence why there is a clip from their pov. And its more interaction than just not listening and saying ''Leave the area'' in a monotone, bored voice.
