Yea I know this is old... but I decided to play this game again. So I felt like glitch exploiting since I’ve beaten the game ages ago in 2011. Anyway I finally managed to get this to work, however the game doesn’t work properly anymore, every room where necromorphs are supposed to spawn they don’t. Have to literally wait 5 minutes for the game to unlock the doors itself... I’ve tried deleting game data save data etc. I think what happens is after picking up the nodes ( which I did rather slowly ) the game locks up cause now you’re OP in chapter 2 start.... idk I can’t progress normally but very slowly.
Still works! Duplicated 113 nodes. Once in the plate room you can pick up anything (including the nodes) at any time. Just be sure to pick them up with kinesis from inside the door frame and walk them all the way over to the second grate before dropping them or hitting X without dropping them. If you don't make it thru the door frame to the grate where he drops them in the tutorial, the gig is up. Also, I got stuck in the laundry room for about 7 minutes before the power came back on by itself. No morfs to kill there. Also, I hung from the train for 6 minutes after killing the last morf upside down before the one inside the train appeared asking to be shot in the mouth. Seems a bit buggy, but worth it to have guns that take anything down with a couple shots. Almost toooooo easy! Thanks
Is the game not cheating its own right by removing the checkpoints because that's like removing the controller from the players grip and saying "PLAY" so no my friend your cheating if anything the developers have cheated by making an unfair difficulty because look at this way because dead space 2 isn't hard and they knew this I mean if they legit thought this game was challenging they would have kept in the checkpoints but they removed them and also added 3 save slots to only use it sounds to me like they didn't know how to make the game harder so they just went with 3 saves and no checkpoints which is poor design choice in my book and the game didn't sell the standard amount of copies it should have so what else does that tell you and eventually dead space 3 came along and later down the line visceral went defunct so they can't have been that good of a designer XD
I mean... hardcore mode isn't unfair. The point of hardcore mode is to add even more challenge and tip the scales less in the favor of the player. While I do personally feel 3 is an odd arbitrary number to choose (personally I think 4 would be better). However, the game itself isn't cheating the player. You are warned before starting hardcore mode that you will only have 3 saves... is this unfair for an optional game mode/difficulty? Sure there are rewards, but that's what you get for completing a feat such as hardcore mode. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, and am happy this glitch exists. It's a single player game... you aren't hurting anyone by doing this. If someone tries to tell you it's immoral then tell them they're wrong. However, I really don't like it when people try and spin this like it's not cheating. It is cheating, but it's harmless cheating.
I love how you guys are trying to justify cheating by blaming the game because you’re not good enough to play it through the right way. Hardcore mode is supposed to be hard. Get better at the game.
I accidentally picked the power node in the balloon room. I was afraid the glitch might not work, but thankfully it still worked. I just repeated the steps with one node.
ok guys so confirmed still works, I got it on my second try. if you're reading this because you need help, do everything he says. when you place the 2nd node down in that hallway and then go back to the balloon room for the final time before you start the duplicating, wait in the balloon room for a definite 30 seconds, and the room next to it, the one before the room that exploded, for 20 seconds. then go to the room and start the duplicating as he shows.if the node on the left disappears permanently dont worry because the one on the right will keep coming back. Make sure to not enter through the door into the hallway with the nodes when you start duplicating, when you open the door, step back when it opens and use the kinesis to grab the node, because stepping through the door or even close to the doorway has a chance to make the glitch fail . also while you are doing the duplicating make sure not to do any punching, stomping, or shooting as this may make the duplicating stop working. gl.
Yup had it work on my first play through on XB1, but refuses to work on the duplicate save file I created from the room with the store. Tried multiple times can only end up with 4 nodes on this file. Will have to start a new game I think.
The trick seems to be that as soon as you go up in the lift to the balloon room, stop picking things up. You can pick up ammo, health and credits right up to the point you reach the lift. After going to the balloon room DO NOT pick anything up! At least not until you're finished duping nodes.
Okay I figured out how to get this to work better just wait 30 seconds in the balloon room and 10 in the room next to it and don't get the node on the wall next to the shop also if you did it right the panel will be back on the tunnel when you come back from the balloon room don't take it off a second time or you'll only be able to make like 4 nodes
Almost forgot if you get stuck in a room don't freak out it just takes a few minutes to un glitch and you'll most likely get stuck in alot of rooms between chapter 1 and 6
its also why i say, once you get up the elevator to the balloon room, dont pick anything up. if you can use your kenesis to shoot shit down and save your ammo in the most of chapter one, youll be able to kill the tripod easier.
Still working as of the end of April 2024 on Xbox Series X. Just remember to turn off frame enhancements and HDR in the game settings. For some reason this was breaking the glitch. I could only get 4 or 5 power nodes every time I tried with it turned on.
If anyone gets stuck in the room just wait a couple of minutes and it will go back on.... The best thing about it is you dont need to fight necromorphs
2024 and of course this still works but apparently since the fps boost on series x it will only let you duplicate around 4 or 5 and i read in these comments that in order to make it work properly on series xboxes you need to press the start button while on the ganes tile and select (manage game and add-ons) then (compatibility options) and make sure that (auto HDR) and (FPS boost) are both off. I just made 150 of these on PS3, picking up after each 50. I don't like cheating like this, but the game only provides for about 2 full weapon upgrades (considering you need 30 for the Rig and Stasis), yet you carry 4. It seems the game was meant for multiple plays and I don't have time for that. Loved DS3, but only played once (2 weapons, easy to upgrade). Didn't bother making money, since I won't be buying nodes for $10,000 each now. Thanks for the glitch! BTW, you need around 261 to 265 if upgrading everything, no DLC - for those interested.
->As long as you pass the first archway of the exit hallway, the nodes can be dropped anywhere in the exit hallway. ->No need to keep count. You can harvest the nodes that have been duplicated and the glitch will continue. ->No need for marathon grinding sessions. If you move a duplicate back to the ramp and return to the exit hallway (harvest the rest), the glitched node will disappear and the duplicate will remain. You can save/load your game and the duplicate will be the new glitched node.

It doe still work. youre NOT supposed to dupe more than 99 nodes. if you get caught in the infamous lock down glitch, let your game sit UNPAUSED for about 5-30 minutes, and the ame will resume like normal
I know I’m 10 years late on this question but what part does the acquired node goes down for me to pick it up?… It’s letting me dupe like four and then it disappears in the room where you put them on the ramp also the door I took off repairs do I have to take that off every time?
2018, Duplication worked, but I got only 4 Nodes then the nodes wouldn't appear on the ramp anymore, also at some point the the vent cover that was pulled away reappeared on the vent. I don't know how I messed it up, but I did. Anyway, got 2 extra nodes, in addition to the initial ones, so that's something. I'll update, if I get stuck.
This glitch works with the Gold Semiconductor, too. After the Tripod drops it, take it to just about the same place you put the first power node. Try to drop it right on the seam between the ramp and the platform closest to the door. It should dupe along with the nodes. It worked for me anyway. Give it a shot.

Just done the glitch, got 99 nodes, i fully upgraded the rig, stasis, plasma cutter and line gun, 23 nodes left. Took me about 45 min, totally worth it.
It works like a charm, Twerly, reminds me of my duping days back in Dead Space 1 when I used to dupe credits and med kits, huhaha. Thanks for the video guide.
Yeah, I picked them up a little quicker than that but I waited in chapter 1 until the node acquired notifications stopped. You're also right that 99 should be plenty as more will be gathered through the course of the game. I found the glitch fixed itself after chapter 5-6 from memory.
I play the PS3. An interesting thing I came across was that by placing the nodes in OneDarkWarlock's location (for duping), I didn't get locked in the laundry room like I used to. But I only duped around 30 nodes or so and still ended up getting locked in the TST room with a slasher, wall climber, and those guys with exploding arms. Although, only the slasher spawned. I think I might try the glitch without getting the items beforehand.
This glitch does work! The key thing is to be patient and wait! It may seem like they never will, but if you wait, on average, about 5-8 minutes, the doors will eventually open!
(12/30/16) it works on my 1st try with no issues before and after. I even updated the game before i play. I'm on Survivalist, 1st playthrough, PS3, Region 1. I do this because i don't have much time to play video games hehe.
Update: I just finished Hard Core with this glitch. I only dupe 55 nodes because more than that, i keep getting stuck in Chapter 2. Hardcore was very hard for me, i'm just casual. I will NEVER ever do this again, it's stressful haha. On the bright side, i finally got the Hand Cannon, payback time hehe.
ruelguitar2k I just applied same tactic for ammo but after picking up 92 nodes one got stuck on wall during walking over and had to pick it up but remembered I didn't pick up ammo so redid the steps and sure enough now I have unlimited plasma ammo lol First try here too

Wonderful! Just a small bug on the xbox 360 for anyone that might come across this video. A suggestion would be to turn off your wifi to stop the console communicating with the Internet when you do this, otherwise, you'll only get 4 nodes. Sounds bizarre I know but this is the only way that it worked with me so it's as if they tried to patch it by having the game say "4 is the max you can have" .
Helped a lot, but with a lot of them the game starts to glitch, I was playing on hardcore and I was waiting for the power to come on or something in a part and enemys wouldn't spawn, like you said the game corrupts itself and I almost picked up my playstation and threw it at a wall, all I did was wait for five minutes and the game fixes itself up, just get rid of all the power nodes you've duped, started working again
absolutely, since getting to this area on hardcore is a pain in the ass, if you mess up, youll have to revert to the beginning to do it again. then use your second save right after you get into chapter 2. use your third in chapter 7 (i believe thats just before you fly through space which you can easily die in - unless you have the balls to do that and save in the next chapter)
You just wait it out. It takes a few minutes, but the doors eventually open automatically. There are several other points where this happens. It's kinda annoying, but at least you don't have to fight anything.

when I get to the balloon room can I pick up items? coz it says on the video to not pick anything up after tripod is dead but I heard not to pick up anything when getting to balloon room for first time. but if I try that way I dont have enough ammo to kill tripod on hard core
you can do this with anything that can be picked up into the inventory. use anything else, and i think you still have to set it up the SAME way, ripping that door off, place item, go to elevator, go back, yadayada,
I can confirm on the xbox 360 that this works, I followed the video perfectly step by step but I still had to retry it 4 or 5 times to get it to work, I made 55 Nodes on Hard Core Mode.
Someone said that you can pick stuff up, just not once u grab the first and second nodes to place them on the ramp. im not sure of this. ive never tried it. you can if you want
Still works to this day! Found out that if you walk instead of run when you duplicate it works better! Plus I Was doing hardcore while doing this on the Xbox one with Full DLC download, thumbs up to this guy!
What are you doing at 4:45-5:00? More importantly: why are you doing it? Was it part of the 15 seconds you were waiting after entering the balloon room? I replicated that on my second attempt, and got this glitch to work almost perfectly, one of the nodes disappeared and never came back. I duped about 60 nodes, and waited for the 'Power Node Acquired' message to clear every time; and I just made it through Chapter 3 without having to wait for any necromorphs to spawn. I was even able to pick up a bunch of duped nodes and then dupe some more. I was also able to then pick up all the items I skipped over after the balloon room, and then dupe a few more nodes. Then I decided to be happy with what I had and moved forward to avoid risking corrupting the game.
Finished that playthrough a while ago, and I didn't have any major glitches. The audio freaked out a few times, but no more than the game normally did without this exploit. Also necromorph corpses freaking out, but they do that if you look at them sideways.
LarkSachrosis I wanted to know the same thing. What was he aiming at or was he just killing time? He didn’t mention a second waiting time. I’m going to look for further info online. Didn’t work for me the first time. The node disappeared while I was walking with it. And had to drop it to open the door. The node was gone when I turned around. :/ try again I must. Lol
If you really want to bake your noodle. When you go to get the first node in the balloon room, walk behind the counter and you will hear a, "door" chime sound as if there is a door there you can OPEN?!?
did you listen to commentary as well? possibilities, you need to wait the right amount of time in the balloon room, not too long and not too short a time. also the fact that you gotta pull the vent cover leading to chapter 2, twice. once you get up the elevator, DONT PICK UP ANYTHING INTO YOUR INVENTORY (yes u can load up at the store though) until youve beaten the boss AND done the glitch. did u save it b4 the tripod!? you might have messed it up just b4 saving! hope this helps, let me know
The stuck glitch that occurs from this is in effect the ENTIRE game. Its really annoying as hardcore mode requires you to move through the game pretty quickly. But the strange thing is, I did OneDarkWarlord's version of this glitch (moved the nodes further away from the door than Twerly did) and the stuck room glitch didn't occur at all. Or maybe its because we are duping too many nodes? The last time the room glitch DIDN'T happen to me was when I only duped 8 or so nodes.
Also, the getting-stuck-in-a-room glitch might be the result of the frequency of you duping the nodes because running from the part that leads you into Chapter 2 to the door in the area causes the PS3 to load A LOT. Maybe slow it down when duping and allowing the console to load?
big time, if you have the weapon dlc. because the dlc weapons cost 0 to buy, so u get one, fully upgrade it, then sell it, you get anywhere from 90k to 150K for it. as far as the glitch still working because of a story ad on (if they have one), i wouldnt be sure, i dont have any other dlcs, i only have the weapon and armor dlcs
it works on PC Steam Aug 2019. But if you don't want to use the glitch, just buy the DLC with the Force Gun. In PC Steam the DLCs are free. With the Force Gun, hardcore becomes easier to play because it's very good at crowd control. The downside with PC there is no Hand Cannon after beating Hardcore, unlike in the PS3 i got the hand cannon.
Tenth time I've tryed i have not picked anything up, haven't dropped any nodes after I have placed them on the ramp, made sure I walked through the door way and pulled the vent off blocking the way to chapter 2, went back and waited 15 seconds ATLEAST . I followed your footsteps literally,and all I get is 1 duplicated power node. I did everything in order, I know it works but idk what I could possibly be doing wrong. And the vent goes back on after I toss it
this glitch actually takes a few times to get it right, if its not working for you, then you are doing something wrong. as far as i know, this still works on all 3 systems the game is played on. read back on some of the comments, ppl thought it was patched, then kept trying it, and realized that it does work. refer to the video, step by step if you have to.
Platinum'd this today, thanks to this video. Funnily enough, when I started the game again doing this glitch (cos I am an idiot and saved in all the wrong places 1st time round) I didn't have any problems with delay/waiting in the laundry room, nor in the concourse before the train station sequence, nor at the brute at the end of chapter 2?!?! The Contact Beam alt fire is a lifesaver! Learn to make it your primary weapon alongside PC and Ripper! ;)
After picking up nodes I was able to keep on carrying and dropping more nodes to pile up in the same way. I figured once you collected them the glitch would stop.. Im going to save game after this and hope it doesnt screw up down the line..THANKS TWERLY
do you play 360, ps3, or pc? because on the 360, theres a few things that could be causing you to get locked in, and one reason is that you should go into the storage, press the Y button on the highlighted HD, and clear system cache. this can often solve the problem *im sure you can do a similar thing on the ps3. the other is that your hard drive on your 360 might be too old, and is wearing out, in which case WILL screw up your games, even if its not the selected HD for your game saves/play.
then youre doing something wrong. any number of reasons, dont throw the nodes, set them down softly, make sure you get close enough to that crawl space that leads to chapter 2 b4 u set it down, dont put it down once u pick it up with kenesis until u are in the spot i said to put it down. DONT PICK ANYTHING UP INTO YOUR INVENTORY UNTIL U R DONE DUPLICATING. u could have placed the nodes wrong. did u go all the way back to the room with the balloons after u placed the 2 nodes?
the vent is supposed to go back. PS3, or Xbox 360? you can always go and clear the system cache (which deletes updates made to games, such as patches) and try it offline. if it STILL doesnt work, then i dont know what to tell you. something you are doing is wrong.
im not exactly sure what causes the lockdown, as ive tried many times to replicate the situation on purpose, but with no luck. 2 very likely possibilities are, picking the nodes up too fast. i recommend picking the nodes up at a rate of one per second, long enough to let the "power node acquired" notice come and go b4 picking the next one. and also, not duping more than 99. i dont think you even need more than 99 (assuming you know what guns you want).
there are undetermined factors as to why the lockout glitch happens. the master of this glitch said no more than 99, but i have been able to go to 120 and no problems, but i also use it on PC, so maybe my system could handle more? you could alternatively let the game sit unpaused; 5-15 minutes should do it.
i have not duped 200 yet, i will do it soon. there is only 2 known rooms this "Unwanted Glitch" happens, and the washing machine room is one of them, i believe the other room is before this point, just 2 doors before you hit the tram station. keep in mind i use the computer version, i also use an xbox 360 game pad for my gaming, and is why you see the game telling me to use those buttons.....

I tried on PC yesterday, and it didn't work. Perhaps I have suit/gun from DLC, or had pickup one or two power nodes (after meeting stross and in the save room, but not the ones in the video), or get killed by the boss once, or something else, I don't want to find out anymore and just continue playing normally

Thanks, it finally did work the way it was Supposed to, don't recall exactly how many Nodes I duplicated but plenty enough to max out the Rig, Plasma Cutter n Line gun, also recall investing half of them to the Javelin n left 12 for future use, all this within the beginning of Chapter 2.. My Hardcore Gameplay was, 1st save chapter 5,2nd save chp11 n chapter 15.. Got My Plat n Boy was I relived when I did.
For anyone who is asking it still works today, 3/3/2016, It doesn't have to be done fast so just take your time and follow the steps and you'll be good to go :)
When this unwanted game corruption happens, im not so sure this is true, about w8ing around. i played around for like 20-30 minutes hoping it would work, and it didnt, but hey, its worth trying if you have the time, right? let it sit and go do something else for a bit...
yeah, most times (if not all times), one of the 2 will always disappear, and have the one left that works, besides, you can only do one at a time... but you do need that second one for it to work.
If you pick up any random item, or duplicated items, the glitch will no longer work, so make sure you dupe what you want/need BEFORE you pick up ANYTHING!. Ive noticed on Dead Space 1 that just about every power node required door, you can dupe anything inside it (given that its not in a crate or locker)>and this is aside from other glitches that dont include power node doors.
+Twerly Can I still buy items from the 1st store before I start the duplication? i'm asking this because the Tripod encounter can be a tough battle on hardcore mode.
Just Remember, this glitch CANNOT be patched, and this is why it still works to this day!

They became defunct because of EA and their failings, not Visceral Studios.

Still working as of the end of April 2024 on Xbox Series X. Just remember to turn off frame enhancements and HDR in the game settings. For some reason this was breaking the glitch. I could only get 4 or 5 power nodes every time I tried with it turned on.
just dont dupe more than 99, and when you go to chapter 2 where the bench is, fully upgrade at least one weapon, and everything else before moving on.

If anyone gets stuck in the room just wait a couple of minutes and it will go back on.... The best thing about it is you dont need to fight necromorphs
2024 and of course this still works but apparently since the fps boost on series x it will only let you duplicate around 4 or 5 and i read in these comments that in order to make it work properly on series xboxes you need to press the start button while on the ganes tile and select (manage game and add-ons) then (compatibility options) and make sure that (auto HDR) and (FPS boost) are both off. Its not working even with HDR, FPS boost off. After 4 node there is no more.
I just made 150 of these on PS3, picking up after each 50. I don't like cheating like this, but the game only provides for about 2 full weapon upgrades (considering you need 30 for the Rig and Stasis), yet you carry 4. It seems the game was meant for multiple plays and I don't have time for that. Loved DS3, but only played once (2 weapons, easy to upgrade). Didn't bother making money, since I won't be buying nodes for $10,000 each now. Thanks for the glitch! BTW, you need around 261 to 265 if upgrading everything, no DLC - for those interested.

can u save the game after defeating the Tripod?
->As long as you pass the first archway of the exit hallway, the nodes can be dropped anywhere in the exit hallway.
->No need to keep count. You can harvest the nodes that have been duplicated and the glitch will continue.
->No need for marathon grinding sessions. If you move a duplicate back to the ramp and return to the exit hallway (harvest the rest), the glitched node will disappear and the duplicate will remain. You can save/load your game and the duplicate will be the new glitched node.

It doe still work. youre NOT supposed to dupe more than 99 nodes. if you get caught in the infamous lock down glitch, let your game sit UNPAUSED for about 5-30 minutes, and the ame will resume like normal

I know I’m 10 years late on this question but what part does the acquired node goes down for me to pick it up?… It’s letting me dupe like four and then it disappears in the room where you put them on the ramp also the door I took off repairs do I have to take that off every time?
2018, Duplication worked, but I got only 4 Nodes then the nodes wouldn't appear on the ramp anymore, also at some point the the vent cover that was pulled away reappeared on the vent. I don't know how I messed it up, but I did. Anyway, got 2 extra nodes, in addition to the initial ones, so that's something. I'll update, if I get stuck.
2020 and it still works! Playing on my Xbox one and followed the video exactly,I leveled up all my weapons so now it's time to kick ass
Just a heads up, if you're doing this on PC you need VSync turned on or it won't work properly due to glitching out the physics

It works with different items
This glitch works with the Gold Semiconductor, too. After the Tripod drops it, take it to just about the same place you put the first power node. Try to drop it right on the seam between the ramp and the platform closest to the door. It should dupe along with the nodes. It worked for me anyway. Give it a shot.

Gash Kden I used the pulse rifle, but I have the earth gov pulse rifle so I used that and sold it upgraded a few times for some credits.
Just done the glitch, got 99 nodes, i fully upgraded the rig, stasis, plasma cutter and line gun, 23 nodes left. Took me about 45 min, totally worth it.
It works like a charm, Twerly, reminds me of my duping days back in Dead Space 1 when I used to dupe credits and med kits, huhaha. Thanks for the video guide.
When you are done with the nodes you can stack the gold semiconuctors.. Just grab them with kineses and keep dropping them on the square
Yeah, I picked them up a little quicker than that but I waited in chapter 1 until the node acquired notifications stopped. You're also right that 99 should be plenty as more will be gathered through the course of the game. I found the glitch fixed itself after chapter 5-6 from memory.
I play the PS3. An interesting thing I came across was that by placing the nodes in OneDarkWarlock's location (for duping), I didn't get locked in the laundry room like I used to. But I only duped around 30 nodes or so and still ended up getting locked in the TST room with a slasher, wall climber, and those guys with exploding arms. Although, only the slasher spawned.
I think I might try the glitch without getting the items beforehand.

Still works on xbox x march 2021. only thing is 1 out of the 2 nodes i placed disappeared. thanks for this straight to the point video.
also, try picking the nodes up at a rate of 1 per second. then leave the chapter once the game stops telling you that you picked up a node.
This glitch does work! The key thing is to be patient and wait! It may seem like they never will, but if you wait, on average, about 5-8 minutes, the doors will eventually open!
(12/30/16) it works on my 1st try with no issues before and after. I even updated the game before i play. I'm on Survivalist, 1st playthrough, PS3, Region 1. I do this because i don't have much time to play video games hehe.
Update: I just finished Hard Core with this glitch. I only dupe 55 nodes because more than that, i keep getting stuck in Chapter 2. Hardcore was very hard for me, i'm just casual. I will NEVER ever do this again, it's stressful haha. On the bright side, i finally got the Hand Cannon, payback time hehe.
ruelguitar2k I just applied same tactic for ammo but after picking up 92 nodes one got stuck on wall during walking over and had to pick it up but remembered I didn't pick up ammo so redid the steps and sure enough now I have unlimited plasma ammo lol

Wonderful! Just a small bug on the xbox 360 for anyone that might come across this video. A suggestion would be to turn off your wifi to stop the console communicating with the Internet when you do this, otherwise, you'll only get 4 nodes. Sounds bizarre I know but this is the only way that it worked with me so it's as if they tried to patch it by having the game say "4 is the max you can have" .

Helped a lot, but with a lot of them the game starts to glitch, I was playing on hardcore and I was waiting for the power to come on or something in a part and enemys wouldn't spawn, like you said the game corrupts itself and I almost picked up my playstation and threw it at a wall, all I did was wait for five minutes and the game fixes itself up, just get rid of all the power nodes you've duped, started working again

absolutely, since getting to this area on hardcore is a pain in the ass, if you mess up, youll have to revert to the beginning to do it again. then use your second save right after you get into chapter 2. use your third in chapter 7 (i believe thats just before you fly through space which you can easily die in - unless you have the balls to do that and save in the next chapter)

You just wait it out. It takes a few minutes, but the doors eventually open automatically.
There are several other points where this happens. It's kinda annoying, but at least you don't have to fight anything.

when I get to the balloon room can I pick up items? coz it says on the video to not pick anything up after tripod is dead but I heard not to pick up anything when getting to balloon room for first time. but if I try that way I dont have enough ammo to kill tripod on hard core
you can actually drop the power nodes when duplicating they will still be where u left them when you dupe
you can do this with anything that can be picked up into the inventory.
use anything else, and i think you still have to set it up the SAME way, ripping that door off, place item, go to elevator, go back, yadayada,
I can confirm on the xbox 360 that this works, I followed the video perfectly step by step but I still had to retry it 4 or 5 times to get it to work, I made 55 Nodes on Hard Core Mode.
Someone said that you can pick stuff up, just not once u grab the first and second nodes to place them on the ramp. im not sure of this. ive never tried it. you can if you want

Still works to this day! Found out that if you walk instead of run when you duplicate it works better! Plus I Was doing hardcore while doing this on the Xbox one with Full DLC download, thumbs up to this guy!
What are you doing at 4:45-5:00? More importantly: why are you doing it? Was it part of the 15 seconds you were waiting after entering the balloon room? I replicated that on my second attempt, and got this glitch to work almost perfectly, one of the nodes disappeared and never came back.
I duped about 60 nodes, and waited for the 'Power Node Acquired' message to clear every time; and I just made it through Chapter 3 without having to wait for any necromorphs to spawn. I was even able to pick up a bunch of duped nodes and then dupe some more. I was also able to then pick up all the items I skipped over after the balloon room, and then dupe a few more nodes. Then I decided to be happy with what I had and moved forward to avoid risking corrupting the game.
Finished that playthrough a while ago, and I didn't have any major glitches. The audio freaked out a few times, but no more than the game normally did without this exploit. Also necromorph corpses freaking out, but they do that if you look at them sideways.

Didn’t work for me the first time. The node disappeared while I was walking with it. And had to drop it to open the door. The node was gone when I turned around. :/ try again I must. Lol
If you really want to bake your noodle. When you go to get the first node in the balloon room, walk behind the counter and you will hear a, "door" chime sound as if there is a door there you can OPEN?!?
did you listen to commentary as well? possibilities, you need to wait the right amount of time in the balloon room, not too long and not too short a time. also the fact that you gotta pull the vent cover leading to chapter 2, twice. once you get up the elevator, DONT PICK UP ANYTHING INTO YOUR INVENTORY (yes u can load up at the store though) until youve beaten the boss AND done the glitch. did u save it b4 the tripod!? you might have messed it up just b4 saving! hope this helps, let me know
The stuck glitch that occurs from this is in effect the ENTIRE game. Its really annoying as hardcore mode requires you to move through the game pretty quickly. But the strange thing is, I did OneDarkWarlord's version of this glitch (moved the nodes further away from the door than Twerly did) and the stuck room glitch didn't occur at all. Or maybe its because we are duping too many nodes? The last time the room glitch DIDN'T happen to me was when I only duped 8 or so nodes.
Also, the getting-stuck-in-a-room glitch might be the result of the frequency of you duping the nodes because running from the part that leads you into Chapter 2 to the door in the area causes the PS3 to load A LOT. Maybe slow it down when duping and allowing the console to load?
big time, if you have the weapon dlc. because the dlc weapons cost 0 to buy, so u get one, fully upgrade it, then sell it, you get anywhere from 90k to 150K for it. as far as the glitch still working because of a story ad on (if they have one), i wouldnt be sure, i dont have any other dlcs, i only have the weapon and armor dlcs

Can you do this glitch with the semiconductor that the tripod drops?
it works on PC Steam Aug 2019. But if you don't want to use the glitch, just buy the DLC with the Force Gun. In PC Steam the DLCs are free. With the Force Gun, hardcore becomes easier to play because it's very good at crowd control.
The downside with PC there is no Hand Cannon after beating Hardcore, unlike in the PS3 i got the hand cannon.
Tenth time I've tryed i have not picked anything up, haven't dropped any nodes after I have placed them on the ramp, made sure I walked through the door way and pulled the vent off blocking the way to chapter 2, went back and waited 15 seconds ATLEAST . I followed your footsteps literally,and all I get is 1 duplicated power node. I did everything in order, I know it works but idk what I could possibly be doing wrong. And the vent goes back on after I toss it
this glitch actually takes a few times to get it right, if its not working for you, then you are doing something wrong. as far as i know, this still works on all 3 systems the game is played on. read back on some of the comments, ppl thought it was patched, then kept trying it, and realized that it does work. refer to the video, step by step if you have to.
Platinum'd this today, thanks to this video. Funnily enough, when I started the game again doing this glitch (cos I am an idiot and saved in all the wrong places 1st time round) I didn't have any problems with delay/waiting in the laundry room, nor in the concourse before the train station sequence, nor at the brute at the end of chapter 2?!?! The Contact Beam alt fire is a lifesaver! Learn to make it your primary weapon alongside PC and Ripper! ;)
Tried it 10 times and after like 3-4 nodes the ones on the ramp stopped spawning. Doesn’t work

in the room when you first come up the elevator that has balloons on the table.
After picking up nodes I was able to keep on carrying and dropping more nodes to pile up in the same way. I figured once you collected them the glitch would stop.. Im going to save game after this and hope it doesnt screw up down the line..THANKS TWERLY

do you play 360, ps3, or pc? because on the 360, theres a few things that could be causing you to get locked in, and one reason is that you should go into the storage, press the Y button on the highlighted HD, and clear system cache. this can often solve the problem *im sure you can do a similar thing on the ps3. the other is that your hard drive on your 360 might be too old, and is wearing out, in which case WILL screw up your games, even if its not the selected HD for your game saves/play.

then youre doing something wrong. any number of reasons, dont throw the nodes, set them down softly, make sure you get close enough to that crawl space that leads to chapter 2 b4 u set it down, dont put it down once u pick it up with kenesis until u are in the spot i said to put it down. DONT PICK ANYTHING UP INTO YOUR INVENTORY UNTIL U R DONE DUPLICATING. u could have placed the nodes wrong. did u go all the way back to the room with the balloons after u placed the 2 nodes?
the vent is supposed to go back. PS3, or Xbox 360? you can always go and clear the system cache (which deletes updates made to games, such as patches) and try it offline. if it STILL doesnt work, then i dont know what to tell you. something you are doing is wrong.
im not exactly sure what causes the lockdown, as ive tried many times to replicate the situation on purpose, but with no luck. 2 very likely possibilities are, picking the nodes up too fast. i recommend picking the nodes up at a rate of one per second, long enough to let the "power node acquired" notice come and go b4 picking the next one. and also, not duping more than 99. i dont think you even need more than 99 (assuming you know what guns you want).
there are undetermined factors as to why the lockout glitch happens. the master of this glitch said no more than 99, but i have been able to go to 120 and no problems, but i also use it on PC, so maybe my system could handle more?
you could alternatively let the game sit unpaused; 5-15 minutes should do it.
i have not duped 200 yet, i will do it soon. there is only 2 known rooms this "Unwanted Glitch" happens, and the washing machine room is one of them, i believe the other room is before this point, just 2 doors before you hit the tram station. keep in mind i use the computer version, i also use an xbox 360 game pad for my gaming, and is why you see the game telling me to use those buttons.....

in the save room, but not the ones in the video), or get killed by the
boss once, or something else, I don't want to find out anymore and just

Oh! Thanks, it finally did work the way it was Supposed to, don't recall exactly how many Nodes I duplicated but plenty enough to max out the Rig, Plasma Cutter n Line gun, also recall investing half of them to the Javelin n left 12 for future use, all this within the beginning of Chapter 2..
My Hardcore Gameplay was, 1st save chapter 5,2nd save chp11 n chapter 15..
Got My Plat n Boy was I relived when I did.

When this unwanted game corruption happens, im not so sure this is true, about w8ing around. i played around for like 20-30 minutes hoping it would work, and it didnt, but hey, its worth trying if you have the time, right? let it sit and go do something else for a bit...

yeah, most times (if not all times), one of the 2 will always disappear, and have the one left that works, besides, you can only do one at a time... but you do need that second one for it to work.

If you pick up any random item, or duplicated items, the glitch will no longer work, so make sure you dupe what you want/need BEFORE you pick up ANYTHING!.
Ive noticed on Dead Space 1 that just about every power node required door, you can dupe anything inside it (given that its not in a crate or locker)>and this is aside from other glitches that dont include power node doors.
