- Descent / Fall starts @9:00 minutes into video.
Two tourists fell down Big Couloir just minutes before our descent of North Summit Snow Field and Direct.
I dislocated my right shoulder and popped it back in seconds before my buddy checked in on me. So yes, I'm fine. Very lucky.
rips on tourists for falling, goes on to fall
He sounded like a tourist too asking about the run lol
God, I love that mountain. Thanks for posting!!
I love it too when there’s lots of snow.
Don't worry if you don't have Rock Skis, you'll have a pair later today
I found that out last week at Big Sky. My favorite snowboard became my beater real quick.
Haha 👍
You have Black Diamond runs, then you have Double Black Diamonds runs, then you have Runs for the worthy.
9:32 Ive been in the same position through the gullies... Its a terrifying moment when your sliding towards some rocks while lookin up the mountain!
Tourists? My man, everyone on a ski mountain is a tourist. You think Big Sky is just for people who live in fucking Montana?
What I thought too
I'm all tense just watching the video. I cannot imagine actually skiing that!
didn't ski it side slipped it
Man I miss Big Sky. I worked at the Yellowstone Club for a handful of years and when it would dump I would just call in sick and lap the tram and big couloir all day. Straight lining it from about halfway down would really get you puckered lol, but if you did you had a nice natural jump at the bottom… and as one of the few on a snowboard that could ride it like that I would always get that “your crazy” look or comment from people lol. Hell I even had it slide on me in there one time (a smaller avalanche but still a little freaky).
If it looks that steep on a go oro it’s got to be straight down in person
quite a backflip that was
This looks fucking terrifying.
Like the vid. Go pro star-fishing down the slope.
" Look at those dumb tourists falling !" Narrator - The tourists wouldnt be the only ones to fall that day....
This mountain must get wind scoured a lot. They have to build wood fences just to catch snow to make a pathway to the couloir.
Cold light snow does not stick. If only Mt could get 2' of Sierra Cement before the season open every year
@@djc7039 nah, cascade concrete sticks better
Yo man were you just shook up after that fall? It looked pretty gnarly
I think I had a slight dislocation in my right shoulder. I remember grabbing my right wrist with my left hand and yanking on it as soon as I came to a stop. It was soar for about a month. Had a few puffs from my buddies spliff and a hot cocoa with Rumplemintz at the lodge.
"Well this is sketch as fuck."
LOL. Not as tough as I thought moments.
Live here the skiing is bomb
Same but don’t say that
The skiing sucks
@@k2chooch579 Too late. I'm a Mammoth California skier and can't find a mountain half as fun anywhere but..........THIS VIDEO SOLD ME!!!! Look out Montana.....HERE WE COME!!!
Did the camera fall off your helmet? Or did your helmet come off your head?
Or did you all together fall THAT MUCH? Looks like so much fun!
2:20 ... lmfao.. I was the tram supervisor for 6 fucking years. I repainted the damn top. Wuss.... I can still (41 years old-er) can take 1st Gull and beat my tram ride back down (and drop the rock). 3.5 mins.
would you like a cookie
GNAAAARRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr.....!
Tourist, they keep the resorts going.
Batman built the tram.!
Wow that fall seemed intense.
I am assuming you need to be complete expert to go down Lone Peak?
Not worth your life!!
Yeah you do. And he is definitely not
Does this place get snow like there’s small rocks sticking out every were
It’s a mountain.
Wind and the rocks are big
@@lucasolson4340 and very light snow. No cement up there
I go there every year. That’s the highest point in big sky so it is pretty rocky. But everywhere else is awesome.
That’s why they are called the rock mountains is what I was told🤷♂️
Clearly you should not be skiing on that trail.
