Most important - do not worry how you sound or that people will think you are funny. We Indians are lovely people and no one thinks like that - trust me! People will help you. Sheetal is definitely from UP/Bihar/Jharkhand. They have a lovely accent when in flow. 🙂
You should first learn all the common words between Farsi and Hindi like just words no grammer no sentences. U can then mix those words with English and easily communicate in India coz many Indians also do this we call it Hinglish(Hindi+English). For example you said "Kitna ruppees? " just like that. So focus on common words first like shukriya, matlab etc. One more thing is we Indians use both Hindi and some urdu/farsi words simultaneously. Both r ok. So if "Dhanyewad" is difficult for u, u can say "shukriya". To learn fast watch bollywood movies, tv show preferably with English subtitle. See make learning a fun process. It shud not feel like too much work. That's how most foreigners who live in India learn Hindi. There's a korean youtuber who speak fluent Hindi even better than Indians and he claims that he learn it from Hindi movies and tv show. His favourite Hindi TV show was C.I.D so he binge watched all the episodes and from there started learning Hindi. So find your favorite Hindi TV shows or movies and keep on watching them. For women there are so many daily soaps in Hindi. If u want any suggestion then I think u can start with "saath Nibhana Saathiya" And "Diya aur baati hum". They are available with English subtitles on various ott platform like "Disney hotstar" Etc. So u can binge watch there from season 1. Both were quite famous. You will love them. Atleast starting seasons are really good. U will also learn a lot about Indian families and culture.

In karunadu you must learn Kannada , not Hindi ..lHindi will get you nowhere in Karunadu ….your daughter knows Kannada and will teach you speakable Kannadu …Hindi will only help you in UP, Bihar, MP
