    I wish you did a side by side comparison of the oval brush and the round brush, just like you did with the barrels. Is the round brush better or worse than the oval?

    Hi! The 0,95 barrel is comparable to the airwrap 0.8 or maybe the 1.2. The brush, to be honest, not too fond of it. I think the larger brush gives you a better blowout. Great video!

      The larger oval brush is also quicker and gentler to use than the round one. I spent more time than normal just trying to get the brush through my hair than the oval one.

    This may sound stupid but maybe the bristles are so long, so that we don't burn ourselves/so that it doesn't get too hot when we get to close? The bristles might be there to give some distance.

    Hi! I'm curious how long does your blowout last whenever you do it on your own and use these kind of blow out brush tools (shark, revlon one plus, revlon orig, dry bar, etc) does it last through out the whole day?
    I see straight hair people that do blowouts with the same looking tools and it wear off on them so I wonder if it happens to you too as a curly hair

I wish Shark made an smaller version of the oval brush PERIOD intead of a round brush that its so uncomfortable. Ever since the Dyson AirStrait came out that’s all I use. I absolutely love it. I purchased an extra for travel and one for my daughter because she loves it. I'm about to get my 3rd Airwrap. 😂 I got my first in 2019, then got the new set for Christmas last year, and wound up giving it to my daughter. Now I want the new Ceramic Pop color scheme. It matches my bathroom. Finally. I MUST have it. But it will make Airwrap #3. We just got the Airstrait about a month ago. Daughter loves it. She called dibs on it immediately so it's in her room. She also keeps the Corrale and the Supersonic in her room. I'm OK with it since I mostly just the Airwrap. But it definitely wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd Airstrait to keep in the bathroom.

I had the dyson airwrap and sold it and asked for the shark flex style for my birthday because I felt that the dyson airwrap did not work well with my hair and the small blowout brush was to small for my long hair to blow it out.

      She did a video comparing the shark flexstyle to the Dyson airwrap. th-cam.com/video/rrtf5IXlgvA/w-d-xo.html. I have the shark flexstyle myself and love how there’s 3 heat options. Some may want to get the Dyson instead due to the device having a lower max heat setting.

      A lot will depend on your hair type and how you like to style. I prefer the Shark FlexStyle over the Airwrap. I do like the Airwrap a lot though. If I had to pick just one, I'd pick the Shark. I'd replace it if I had to, I'd likely not replace the Dyson (would if there were no Shark that I liked better).
      The Shark dries hair a lot faster and better than the Dyson, it dries my hair faster than even my heavy duty Elchim dryer. I don't use a diffuser, concentrator for rough drying, just the Shark in a folded L position (the Dyson can't do that).
      The curling barrels on the Shark grab the hair better and easier than the Dyson, even if they're a little shorter (longer than the short Dyson but not quite as long as the longer Dyson). It's less fuss with hair moisture with the Shark than Dyson, it's easier and quicker overall on curling with the Shark.
      The Shark paddle and oval brushes are far better for me (smoother hair, faster drying) than Dyson's round or paddle. Still not sure I like the Shark Round round brush myself, it pulls at my hair like no other brush ever has, but does give good results, far better than the large or small round Dyson brushes, the firm, soft, large, small paddle brushes from Dyson.
      The only things I liked better about the Dyson Airwrap VS Shark Flex Style...The cool shot button actually gets cool on the Dyson it never gets cool (just less warm) on the Shark, and it's hard to reach on the Shark. It's hard to turn off and on to release a curl, the Dyson is a lot easier to reach. The Dyson pick comb style brush for me worked better than the Shark one (but that one will vary a lot by hair type).
      That and the longer barrels and 3 barrel sizes vs 2 on Shark are the only strengths of the Dyson vs Shark for me personally. But...I like the slightly shorter Shark curling barrels better than the longer (but longer than normal shorter Dyson) Dyson. I'd prefer them as long as the Dyson, but they are just as easy to use (easier than the shorter Dyson). If your hair is super long, it might be an issue. But I find the way the Shark grabs the hair to work better and easier than the original (long or short) Dyson barrels. The new ones may be different though.

      @LanaS4620 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@miagrace802 thank you for that. I tested it the shark out and I agree it’s better because it does have more power and my hair is frizzy so I feel like that’s what I need to get smoother results.

    • @miagrace802
      @miagrace802 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LanaS4620 You're welcome! My hair is fine but coarse and frizzy, and I got better results with the Shark vs Dyson for smoothness. The curls are very similar on both, just a bit easier on the Shark for me (unless the newer Dyson barrels pull the hair in better than the originals).

  • @miagrace802
    @miagrace802 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just got the round brush, I had the same issue with the too long bristles. I've not had this issue with the Shark paddle or oval brush. It poked at and scratched at my head in a way I've never had any other air brush do before (Revlon, Dyson Airwrap, Babyliss). I actually started to wonder if something was wrong with my round brush and the bristles were too long, stiff (needed to soften with use) or not cut properly.
    It gave a LOT more tension than the other Shark brushes and more than any other air brush I've ever used. It pulled at my hair in a way I'm not used to (but I don't do normal non air round brush blowouts with a dryer) (hair is fine but coarse and wavy). But it also gave me a bit better and straighter finish than other brushes. It just didn't feel good on the scalp and pulled a lot.
    I'm going to try a variation of what I normally do. Rough dry with the Shark, then brush through with the Shark flat paddle brush on the top and a bit on the under side (but not fully drying yet). Normally I'd then do the underside with the oval brush, now I'll use the round brush to finish drying and curl the ends.
    Anyone else think the round brush is odd? Or did I get a bad one?
    Also, if you order from Shark, the shipping is very expensive even in the USA. I had an issue where they went back and charged me more than the $15 shipping ($6 more). I contacted them, they fixed it but said it was because they had 2 shipments for my 1 order (I ordered everything in one order).
    I tried the comb attachment. I like the one from Dyson on the Airwrap. But due to the shape and orientation of the combs and how far out they are from the airflow, I really didn't enjoy the Shark comb attachment, it didn't work for me and my hair type (but likely will for others).
    I'm about to try the new smaller curling barrels next.

    • @JulissaGuillen
      @JulissaGuillen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely agree with you! I was expecting a bit more from this smaller round brush. I also felt like the plastic bristles were too long and not the most gentle on my hair 😞 I also kind of like the oval one a bit more but I’ll keep using the new round brush to see if I’ll get used to it but it definitely feels a bit rough and the tension was too much for me 💕

    • @miagrace802
      @miagrace802 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it pulled that much on my fine (but coarse and wavy) hair, it had to be far worse for you (curlier, denser hair). I think a lot of people (even with finer hair) are going to experience this as well.
      It felt like it almost wanted to pull hair out a little from the tension. It was hard to get through the hair in a way I usually don't experience (detangled hair with blow out balm applied).
      It was almost like trying to run a brush through unconditioned, tangled hair with no product and a bad brush, the amount of pulling.
      I did like the results (smoother than the oval for me, but my hair's shorter than yours), but it's going to take some getting used to.
      I probably don't apply enough tension normally and this one applies a lot of tension. Maybe it was designed that way for those of us who don't do that with our hands and wrists as naturally.
      If you figure it out a way to use it more comfortably, please let us all know.

    • @miagrace802
      @miagrace802 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: I found that if I rough dried with the Shark, then used the square Shark paddle brush to semi-dry then went in with the round (vs the oval) brush, It worked a lot better. Less pulling and a better result, but still smoother than the oval brush (or paddle brush alone). I didn't get as much flip to my ends (curled under) as I'd have liked though.

    Your hair is thicker and stronger than mine but I could not use any of the Flexstyle brush attachments. Way too rough and pokey for my fragile hair. None of the oval or round rolling hot brushes are good for my hair type as they pull out way too much hair.
