This is bad advice, you don’t need to take the catalytic converter off at all. You can replace starter motor by removing wastegate actuator & heatshield . I replaced mine today , 1 x 13mm bolt & 2 x T50 bolts & 10mm nut to remove actuator. 3 x E10 socket bolts to remove heatshield. Then the 13 mm & 10mm nuts for the power supply & the 2 x E14 size bolts . It comes out through the top, you don’t even need to get under the van ..
I’m sorry you feel that way. As when I did this for the customer there was no video to show this exactly people just point. So I thought this was a helpful video and to do it that way was pretty simple. Thank you for your advice though
This job is such a bastard, I've just done the starter and it took me over 5hrs. I took the manifold off instead because it had a broken stud which I had to change. Without taking the manifold off I don't see how it's easier

@@justanothermobilemechanic7997 I guess it’s easier with the cat out of the way but it wasn’t too bad to do my way as long your tools are decent.
Tools make your job easier. Better tools makes easier jobs. Thank Colin
