Like Noel Coward or other’s Private Lives: So many Fans here. I like the Rivalry between the brothers. Everything!!!
I agree; if this exact same group of writers, and actors had come along before the invention of television, or film, it wouldn’t have been a problem, as they probably would have created something almost identical for the stage, and it would have still been a massive hit. I always wanted the original cast to take the show on the road, with a run of plays based on the series; I think it would have worked just as well, since the majority of the scenes are crafted like those you see on the stage. I share the opinion that Frasier is a better show than Cheers. What astounds me is how different the spinoff is from the original series. Wings fell more into the Cheers formula but Frasier really was a great departure. What I love most about Frasier is that the characters grew. The Niles in the final season is quite different than the Niles we fist meet. Frasier, Daphne, Martin, Roz and even Bulldog also had character growth. I think if the cast remained as they did throughout the series, Frasier wouldn't have resonated.

"Frasier" I always felt had a far more British sensibility about it (than most other American sitcoms including "Cheers") The performances, the scripts, the characters and the wordplay made the series smart, sophisticated and witty. I did feel that the show ran longer than it should have. Don't get me wrong, it was still funny until the end but truthfully the show could have wrapped up a couple of seasons earlier than it did.

Why does an assertive woman have to always seem like a man to people. Unless half the jokes in the show are based on the tension between expectation and surprise, when Niles are being girlish but they're actually just being sensitive or refined. And Lilith was being honest and authoritative, which made people think she was masculine. Curiouser and curiouser
Kelsey certainly was. Where you see Fraiser confess to Daphne about Niles liking her, and then turn up at the station, due to sleep deprivation and a "mental breakdown", he is 100% cooked. Ironically, when they filmed the episode where Martin gets stoned from the brownie, Kelsey is 100% sober.

I liked the way Frasier’s hair looked in season 1 and 2.
That isn't for everyone. LOL I always thought it was silly and made him look like a Cistercian monk.
