AEW is actually not very scripted. As far as I know, they just have bullet points, but they generally have the creative freedom to say whatever they want.

I think my favorite part of MJF’s character is that beneath all he ego, boasting, and smug condescension… he’s a total fucking psychopath. I actually, honestly love it. The violent, out of control rage in his voice when he gets like this is terrifying in a good way.
Yeah, that angered intensity was absolutely necessary to put across how he's not just a smug D-Bag, but he can be violent, too.

@@darthnowlan You never want to make a great heel, champion, once you do it's over, where do you go from there? Heels don't hold the belt long, they are transitional, for the next Face Champion. You give the belt to a lesser heel than transition to the next Face Champion. You want a great heel to keep chasing the belt everywhere he goes, so he keeps the house full. That's the reason, Paul Orndorff never was champion, he chased the belt against Hulk Hogan from coast to coast with record crowds to this day, i think for almost 5 years. Paul became a Face for a short time, than betrayed Hulk, so they could reignite the feud again to go for several more years! Superstar Graham is the perfect example of making a great heel a Champion, he held it for a short time, than when he lost, it was over for him, he was done, never had the same success again!

Sure, Ric Flair is famous because of his heel runs and yes, Eddie Guerrero was also popular even before his first face turn. But at least they don't need to be a heel anymore. Although Eddie dies by the time he turning face again back in 2005. And Charlotte would've remain as face if Ric Flair didn't screwing his own daughter by messing around with Lacey Evans (but thanks God she's not pregnant with Ric's child). Nevertheless, that doesn't make MJF the best.
