I like this prayer for purpose because i struggled with this very thing. I was suicidal because i was done trying to live. I saw no purpose in it, everything was not going to plan no matter how hard i tried. So i asked god why let me live and a still small voice said, i gave you scripture to use, prayer to ask for help, and the holy spirit to get you through. I wasnt using the resources god gave me to survive this world. Once i used the resources it slowly became easier to live. Im still too scared to dream for anything, instead i just practice gratitude for what i do have. Thats all i know so far.
