Dude I love how you take found junk and turn it into these fabulous pieces using rusty old hand tools. You are a true artist with an amazing talent, I enjoy seeing your work, keep it up!
Thank you! I'm currently building 2 more which will be in the same video together. Stay tuned, I think they should be pretty cool, although made with a less rare hubcap.
I love your guitar. Great work! I've been wanting to build a bass using a Jerry can body and keeping all the electrical outside in copper tubing. You've given me good ideas to go about it. Thank you!
Pachelbel's Canon has never sounded so good. Great job, I was given the same hubcap and was wondering how to convert it. This is the perfect solution, thanks for the inspiration
Thanks, for now I listed it on Facebook marketplace. A lot of views but no sale yet.

Hello my friend. It's a great job using recycling. You created the guitar. This is very beautiful and interesting. Congratulations. I watched with admiration. Thank you for sharing. Yours truly....
I'm clearly not a musician either, but just have fun with it and have been able to help out at church from time to time. Definitely worth a try with the low price of guitars nowadays and TH-cam.
Thank you. I recommend you learning to play, although not on a guitar like this. Get a Squier Stratocaster and watch TH-cam. Of course you have a little one at home I believe, and I wasn't able to play guitar for years when mine were little. Every time I picked it up they would come over and grab the strings or turn the tuners.😂
@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse haha i remember doing that with my father's first when i was young. I don't actually remember ever seeing him play it ( i do remember him playing the accordion though) maybe one day I'll have the time again 🤣
This is a beautiful piece! Thank you for this amazing idea, I've been wanting to make a special guitar for my dad, and this would combine his two favorite things: cars and guitars!
LoL .!. Amazingly cool build. Well done my friend. 👍👍 ( looks like I gotta start hitting up yard sales/secondhand stores & doing some horse trading, I want one ) 😀
I guess I'm more assembling than building. I'm really enjoying it, not sure if I want to build a neck yet. You have any pictures of your one year build?
@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse here's the video for the body th-cam.com/video/DeZaj0fVj-w/w-d-xo.html And when I say I've been working on it for over a year, I mean I get excited and do work for a weekend and then put it away for a couple months! Eventually I realized I'm in over my head, so I bought a neck & pickup kit from Tim Sway to finish it
It's a bunch of fun, finding little parts to complete it is my favorite part, plus they sound great! I recommend finding a nice big, but flatish hubcap. Start with a parts guitar and some hardwood. Here's a playlist of a few that I've made. th-cam.com/play/PLm_kyvwaCZAvqem9rVYBEO_hzyjBHuC18.html
Hmmm, maybe I can make a similar guitar. I'm needing a smaller body guitar. This would be a good size. I'm not to handy but I might be able to do it. Thank you for sharing this.
This one is actually kind of big. I'm not great with measuring or woodworking, but I think this came out great. If you buy a smaller guitar, I would try the mini strat, they're still not as great with intonation as full sized guitars, but better than the Les Paul mini.
Did you really find a guitar that had been thrown away? I can't imagine such a thing. Oh well... It turned out very well. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Cheers Tom.
I've found 2 guitars in the trash over the years. One was rusty and dirty, this BC Rich was modified and still almost playable. Maybe it was stolen, then eventually discarded?
I lived in a big apartment complex for five years, and during that time I found in the trash three guitars that were in various states of damage! A look so two amps, I microphone stand, and countless dressers, tables, microwaves! Some of the nicer stuff I kept and sold on Craigslist, some I broke down and used for reclaimed building material...but I was limited by space in the apartment! (Also my wife didn't appreciate me bringing trash home lol!) Made some good videos for my channel though
@@TomPetersonRefuseReuse The looks and bling are beyond compare, however, the sound is what really blew me away with all those little side harmonics and resonance. It's a really deep-throated instrument that's unique.
Hi, love the video it has inspired me and a friend to build one each, i have a Mercedes hubcap, can i just weld a plate on the front to take the neck (once i do the cut out) or do i have to support it from the back as well
It's probably best to run the wood straight through. It all depends on the cap you use, and they all vary. I built another with a large hubcap, there should be pics on my Instagram, link is in my about section on my TH-cam page.
Basically, what I did on this one, may not work for other ones, but a guitar like this is just a piece of wood attached to the neck and then attached to whatever you use for the body.
Looks like you did some actual welding on the inside of the hubcap--you do not explain that! Where do we get welding done? You just say you "connected" it. Not too clear.
There are a lot of build videos of all kinds of things, using skills and tools that I don't have, so I get it. That's why I've showed different ways to get the job done. Here's some more hubcap guitars, but they're not all build videos. th-cam.com/play/PLm_kyvwaCZAvqem9rVYBEO_hzyjBHuC18.html&si=Kqa24b28fPCuCz1H

Thanks, it probably won't be as original as this one, but who knows?
What a great job on the build and the sound is fantastic, a wild thing indeed.
Thank you, it sounds more in tune now because I worked on the intonation a bit.
I like that you found so much good stuff in the garbage, all I ever find is garbage
I guess it depends where you live. We have curbside bulk trash, someone is always cleaning out a garage or basement.
