Just watched the whole series and took detailed notes. I am a VCU Cinema student and I am so thankful for your channel helping me break into the industry. Keep not up and know that the little guys are hear for you just as much as you are for us

great video!!! I am wondering how safe it is to do cascading copy (offload to fast RAID then to slower drives)? What if the RAID has a failure? I am asking this because I have been thinking to do it this way since a lot of times the drives that production gave me are really slow to do backups to two drives at one time.... but kinda too scare if the RAID has a failure

Hi Andy. I just got a job offer yesterday to be DIT on a small theatrical full-length production.
I've been assistant editor some time ago for an off line edit of another movie. Things have changed & I have to get up to speed! Your videos have given me a start.
I assume I wouldn't need everything you have. I'm curious though, over about what period of time did you build that cart into what it now holds? Looks like maybe $100k worth of stuff!
I happened to be at the NAB product show in Vegas when I got the job offer. So I've been hobnobbing with the Red and Arri folks. The DP will be using those cameras.
Any hints, or can you point to other videos and sources you think would help?
    Thanks!

Why does everyone have an obsession with laptops? They are pricey compared to iMac or Pro models of same or faster speeds etc. if you have a UPS and cart why limit yourself to laptops? You can buy one hell of a UPS for the difference in price
