People use software mostly either R, minitab or python. She took the time to explain step by step by hand calculations to show clearly how PCA process works. Appreciated.
Exactly! This is just what I was looking for. I didn't find anything other than her, that explained what happened in step 5. That was my missing piece.
at first i did not want to watch the video because for me it is hard to understand your language, but after reading through the comments i watched the whole video and now i got it. thanks for the great video.
Yeah this was an amazing example, great job. I'm certain you were switching languages back and forth throughout the video, but I could still follow it. Fantastic work!
Even i dont the language but your explanation made it more easy! mam.. like literally you expalined each and every step! thats so much to appreciated .. i just paused the video appreciate you .. like seriously thank you so much mam !
This Lecture took me back to 1994, when I joined college of Engineering, Trivandrum. Being a native of Kashmir, I was hearing Malyalam first time in my life and when I started attending the classes of S1S2. The teachers were mixing the Malyalam with the English at a speed I was thinking the terminology is new to me from Physics. Likewise, today Mam was explaining the PCA, I think by far the best mathematical explanation but today I do could manage to understand the Malyalam as well. I knew the explanation of PCA but to actual do it with such beautiful example could be a treat to students. I did subscribe the channel and hit the bell icon.
Camera quality is bad Shaky footages Yet, this person was able to nail the concept! This is goldd!! The best PCA explanation I have seen so far! Amazinggg!
Madam Thanks a lot. Keep doing what you are doing and in the way you are doing. Teaching with proper notes is highly significant for Academic Students.
Wow... explained very sleekly and easily , seriously flattered with the way you have given explanation on PCA with Math . Much thanks for letting us know the math behind the PCA.
Fantastic job. Am a tamilian but I can still understand in a crystal clear manner ..... Thanks for your contribution sister 👏👏👏👏..searched 3-4 days in the net this is actually the one stop of pca.
By far, the best worked out example in youtube. Thanks a lot!!! Have seen in few other tutorials to subtract the x and y mean in the original dataset to avoid later subtraction from mean. What is your view on this mean subtraction in the original dataset?
Nice video and excellent explanation! (¡Muchas gracias por el ejemplo!) It is a good exercise to teach in a class in conjunction with the video. Here is a R code in Spanglish that checks the result obtained in the video. # Step 1: Create the data xx
thank you very much.. madam.. if possible please use full English madam... numerical its ok.. but for concept English better i think ... its my feeling only... but its a grate work madam... because of u .. i did my work madam..
Thank you so much for this. My professor said the statistical program will do it for you. You don't need to know how to do this stuff. But sometimes it makes easier to understand knowing the math behind it
Yes.. You are right👍.. A mistake happened there (12:33) in the equation for finding the roots of quadratic equation.. I apologize... Thanks for comment.
Loved the explanation, due to the language barrier, some parts were not understandable but the rest was crisp and clear. Thank you so much for your dedication.
Great Job - Ma'am. You are a life-saver. Next a little more english would be nice for more international students (like me from Germany). Million Thanks !
Best tutorial for PCA and very knowledgeable tutor.. My sincere THANKS to you.The formulae shown 12:38 for finding the roots missed -b +/- but the answere is correct. the graphing part is unique. not seen in any other tutorials. Is it Possible to take us a calss on how to derive the orignial data from reduced data?
Mam, I have one doubt. We need to select the higher Eigen value as the PC1. Does it mean that we need to check the value only...not the sign. Example: if we have 2 Eigen values 9 and -10. Which is the PC1? by magnitude 10 is the higher value.. By value 9 is the higher value.which one will become the PC1. please reply.
@17:06-17:23 while calculating e2 for lambda 2 value (6.61), detailed calculation is required like e1 or is there a rule to reverse the values by removing the sign of the first value in vector? Please confirm, did not get this part.
Always eigen values of a covariance matrix is orthogonal. Since first and second principal components represent these eigen values they are orthogonal.
The explanation is so elegant and clear that I need not even know the language to understand the concept. Thank you madam.
Glad to hear that
Ok 😎

I won't lie. I didn't understand until I watched this video. Clearly explained. Thank you

For the beginners, it is important to know where it is coming from? Otherwise they think it is a kind of magic by software.
Exactly! This is just what I was looking for. I didn't find anything other than her, that explained what happened in step 5. That was my missing piece.
very rare to see this type of written step-by-step explanation instead of using Software tools. great job
The best pca class ever in youtube.
This was an awesome explanation. Now I truly understand what the PCA algorithm is really doing, and I feel much more confident in using it. Thank you!
Man what a teacher!what a video didn’t knew the language but went straight into my head!exceptional!
at first i did not want to watch the video because for me it is hard to understand your language, but after reading through the comments i watched the whole video and now i got it. thanks for the great video.
Thankyou for not skipping any steps, made me confident working with matrices 🙏👍
Great to hear!
You are a Queen mam. I bow down to say thank you, you have saved me from my exam.
Best way!!! I learnt theory, but simply it wasnt enough… she just explained it so clealry!!
OMG, thank you so much,,,,PCA is tool for my final exam at graduate...
Thank you so much! I've been stuck on a question like this for a while now and none of the other videos explained it very well.
Yeah this was an amazing example, great job. I'm certain you were switching languages back and forth throughout the video, but I could still follow it. Fantastic work!
I like how a 240p video with language barrier have best explanation for the topic.
Thank you.
Thank you for this ! Explaining with an hand-done example is way more understandable than any theory video!
