Hi good morning. I can't go program mode, if I pressed the MODE button at least 5sec it says that the PROFINET ACTIVE MODE BUTTON IS LOCKED. How do I go around it? Thank you.
Hello Gavin, entering program mode (Configuration mode) is not possible while the PLC or PROFINET communication is active. The workaround is to pull the PROFINET Ethernet connection out of the module and then access will be granted. Once the reconfiguration is complete reconnect the cable. Don’t forget to change the mode back to RUN (protected) mode. Hope this is helpful to you. The G11 module, although a very nice unit, seems to have printing on it that would be difficult to determine when the modules are placed in areas that aren't well-lit. Is there an option to obtain these modules with higher visibility of the printing? (referring mostly to the identification of the input/output ports)
Hi there John, The modules are laser marked which makes the print gray on black. The laser marking process removes/burns a little material which makes the print hold up in even tough environments. Because of the potential of poor contrast of gray on black you may need a flashlight to read the print in low illumination environments.
Hi John, The color of the laser marking process can't be changed. This color is created automatically when the laser burns the plastic material. An alternative is pad printing, but the shape and contour of the top of the housing with the M12 connectors makes this challenging.
Hi there Fabio, Glad you’ve contacted us regarding your error code message, hope the answer below helps to troubleshoot your message: Error code = 1.40 = power failure error Please download the AS-Interface Maintenance Troubleshooting Guide to help troubleshoot this error. • page 13 of the Maintenance & Troubleshooting Guide covers potential error 40 on Gateway display files.pepperl-fuchs.com/webcat/navi/productInfo/doct/tdoctb008a_usa.pdf?v=21-JUL-17 • Please start by reviewing these check points • Another useful troubleshoot tip is to swap the two networks. If 1.40 remains after swapping the yellow cable, the gateway is probably the culprit If when swapping the networks it now says 2.40 then the network is probably the problem Feel free to contact our Ask an Expert team www.pepperl-fuchs.com/usa/en/ask_an_expert_fa.htm if you require further assistance. Wow, this is excellent! =) I'm building one of these for a project at the moment. With sound guidance like this it should be a walk in the park!
That is really cool, Nzovu. Send us a link to keep us updated on your project anytime.

I understand. Hypothetically speaking, is there a way to make the print marks white instead of grey? Thanks for the response
