A murder mystery action anime with really good character development, designs and godlike OST from the same creators who made music for games like Nier Automata. The reason this show is underrated is because it was region locked to Japan only on Disney plus so many people missed it. I can guarantee you will love this show after watching just one episode but before you do, make sure you don't Google anything because even Google images will spoil you episodes 18 and onwards

Initially, I really thought it was going to be a sports/summer anime about swimming 😂😂 and I actually didn't mind cuz has been a time since I didn't watch something of sort but ooh boy, I couldn't have been more wrong 😂😂😂... after episode one I was like "ayo, wtf did I just watch? 😂😂". Of course, I continued watching afterwards cuz it was awesome but certainly it wasn't what I thought it was going to be at all. PS: remember that I didn't even had the expectations from the opening cuz, like many animes, they usually don't play it on the first episode so I didn't have a hunch at all to, at least, give me expectations of dark things or anything alike. Best thing I ever did cuz these days it's so hard to get in a show without minor spoilers. Blind reactions are really pleasant.

The first opening sounds like an ending because it's the part of the show everyone is still lost and trying to piece things together (the same way the viewer try to piece together what's on screen). Only a select few characters are, if barely aware at all, of the mystery surounding the plot at this point. The second opening is HUGE SPOILERS out of context, but at the point of the story it plays for the first time it's fine because they already shown the part that can surprise you. So, with most hints in hand it's time to solve the mystery and be badass while doing so! Those openings do a formidable job at conveying the change of tone and hype up the story when the 2nd one starts playing for the first time.

This is a fantastic show and hooked me in from the very first moment. The second OP is really good but the first OP very much reminds me of something from The Pillows, one of my favorites bands. Speaking of The Pillows, you should take a listen to their discography and the show that used it heavily, FLCL a short 6 episode series.
This is one dark series.(I dont know if you heard about Re:Zero yet).The plot is realy similar to it.(Essentialy its realy hard to tell you about it without spoiling major Plot points). But i think you can watch it.(But i think if you are in the US it might be locked in Netflix Jail).(I just checked and its not locked in netflix jail but on Hulu). And Disney+.
The show finished in 2 seasons telling its whole story. The first opening is extremely vague but what little it does show is extremely relevant. There are times written down, screens multiplying to show different events happening instead of eachother at the same time, the child drawings are based directly on different things that happen in the anime, and the very end well that's the only bit of animation you get from the opening. The second opening is huge spoiler territory because it happens when the genre changes from mystery to shonen and that's all I can say about that. As for why you never heard about this one "it was locked in Disney jail." For anyone who wanted to watch it legally they needed Disney plus and also I think you may have needed a VPN as well but I'm not sure.

At the time it was airing last year, u could only watch it in Japan. Had it aired internationally, it probably would've been one of the most talked animes of the year. Disney and Netflix r in competition to see who can ruin the hype around anime that r on their platforms.
Summer time render was robbed of anime of the year and got second place. It didn’t get as much attention because it was a Disney sponsored anime (yes, very rare) so it wasn’t on crunchy roll or the norms and Disney isn’t noted for much anime but to anyone who watched it, landslide anime of the year. Just missed the spotlight by a hair. Second opening probably best song of the year too
I was kinda disappointed with the 2nd OP. I wish they would've gone with a slow OP like the first one but I understand y they changed it. I just wished it was less rock.
