It's not just the player transfer fees that need to come down, it's the player's wages too.

As a Bayern fan myself, we have actually been targeting players playing in England for a few years now, including Sane from Man City, and Omar Richards from Reading, Mane from Liverpool, Dier from Tottenham recently, so it does seem to be a place we have been looking at for a while.

Im Bayern fan aswell, and it hasnt worked since we started this strategy. I watch a lot of EPL, the players are good, but also overvalued. It litterally started after Hansi Flick's sextuple and we've been poor ever since.
Building the team around strongest german talents, playing high line gegenpress has always been our winning formula, and we've gone back Guardiola ball that made us stale before. Quality of academy products has dropped, scooting has been poor since Davies & Musiala came through...

It's a good thing. Player values need to come down somehow. The money in football is getting silly, average players being sold for 60m, etc. Transfer windows will become less boring once clubs get the memo and start buying and selling players for lower fees. Transfer windows were still exciting back when £1 million transfer fees were considered huge. It's always exciting when your club signs new players, regardless of how much they cost.

100% correct, and the football clubs and culture need to be taken away from these companies and states who own them. Otherwise nothing will change

Neymar went for £200m and Mbappe for £185m in 2017. Since then no player has even got close to being sold at that amount. I genuinely think football has peaked. Just think about it,
    2001: Zidane £50m
    8 years later
    2009: Cristiano £80m
    8 years later
    2017: Neymar £200m
It's been 7 years, and no player since has even been sold for more than £150m.

    • @andymacduff2
      @andymacduff2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It’s quite simple. The teams that have the money don’t need to spend that kinda money. City normally sign 1-2 first team players a season unless there’s a major outgoing. Real Madrid have had issues and Barca are limited

The premier league has decreased in quality overall.
The standard of football is worsening.
Players are less Skillfull but they are more athletic.
And to keep the narrative of being the best, these opnions will be expressed to justify that more expensive means better quality.
Paulinha is an average, honest player with a good work ethic.
And paying more than 30 million for him is outrageous.
High transfer value should be attached to the most consistent, high output, skillfull and entertaining players.
