I'm pretty sure I saw Ben today, at a train station and we ended up on the same train into London. My friends and I are all at vet school and him and his friend were saying that you must be mad to be a vet. Thanks a lot Ben!!
Thank you! Quiche is a good thing to eat instead of cake when having a little coffee get-together. As I am diabetec, It's like a slice of bread topped with the cream of eggs and vegetables. A good thing would be to add some thin carrot slices to garnish.
Hey, I'm Afghan Canadian and have been watching you guys for long time. Not many know but those who do, love our Qabuli Palow otherwise called as Kabuli Palow or rice with carrots, raisins and lamb chops. It is one of our main dishes that very popular. You can obviously elevate it but maybe something you guys want to research about and make it on the channel. I am sure a lot of people will love it!
Can't believe you didn't do this sooner ... we like to top with sprinkle of almonds. Also like the James Beard trick of spreading a thin coat of mustard (not yellow) on the just browned crust, back in the oven for 5 to glaze then fill ... this keeps crust from getting soggy and adds a really good tang.
If you're busy fangirling over quiche and you don't realize you don't have ceramic beans, regular beans or small coins of some sort will work. It's really the only good thing about pennies.
My daughter introduced me to SortedFoods years ago and I love it. As much fun as your current content is, I really prefer these older episodes. Please bring back more of these simple segments, without all the drama and goofiness that is in your current playlists. Good food, cooked simply, with a nod to those who are stuggling financially.
At the time you wrote this...it was kinda true...now the boys are pretty good at cooking. The cooking battles are awesome. I love the story behind why these guys made this channel and it's pretty cool how far they've all come. Oh..and James is awesome too.
I love quiche, Ben! Don't let the boys give you a hard time. Also, I'd like to know why you don't think it's good if it goes in the fridge? When I make them for a household of three, we always have leftovers. I love having the leftovers for breakfast the next morning.
+SIRA063 You can still avoid that by watching the wonderful Pull Apart Pizza Recipe and earn a little laugh because of Jamie's little laugh and James' grin
the google+ page wouldn't let me comment, but here it goes: the part of the video when the bacon was frying i realized you guys havent done a recipe with just the sound effects of cooking like some japanese recipe videos! maybe that beats the purpose of a 'recipe' since there wont be any verbal instructions, but i find it relaxing when there isn't any music on a video and just the sounds of sifting, pans banging, spoons in the drawer, and cheese bubbling on top of something hot. you've pleased our eyes, is it time to please our ears?
check out their other channel, Tastemade. There are quite a few 'cooking sounds' videos on there! I really liked the traditional drinks from around the world and christmas cooking video series!
Ben, I love quiche. This recipe made me smile. Reminds me of my childhood in France. Mum's are the best. :) Thanks for that video, I shall attempt to make my own pastry this weekend and treat myself with one most delicious quiche. Thumbs up!!
I really enjoyed how happy Ben was during this episode. It was really adorable! I don't have a favourite food, per se, but I do have a favourite flavour. I love spicy things. But they can't just be straight hot spicy, they have to have several layers of spicy. One such dish, is my mother's Ma Po Tofu (also known as Grandma's Tofu, Mapo Doufu, etc.).
I really love quiche. Every year for Christmas breakfast my sister and I make our mom serve a spinach quiche. So now it reminds me of home and family and Christmas.
Finally!! I've been waiting for the quiche video since you reached 500,000!! I never used to eat breakfast so my mum started making me little quiche cupcakes for quick on the go eating. They were crustless, and had peas and cheese. The funny thing is I loved them cold- that was the way I tended to eat them when I was rushing out the door for school. The food that gets me most excited is new spins on old favorites. Hash browns for Sunday brunch? Take a look at "crack potato casserole" so delicious, really addictive, and a new take on something I've always loved! Nice job boys!
I'm still a bit pissed that the old recipe links do not work anymore. I used to love to make this but I never wrote down the quantities because I didn't think you'd remove it. I only watch Sorted for entertainment now instead of actual recipes.
I used the wayback machine: here it is. Ingredients 100 g cheddar cheese, grated 250 g plain flour 110 g cold butter, cubed 1 pinch salt 2 tbsp poppy seeds 1 knob butter 6 rashers smoked bacon 1 large leek 6 eggs 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped 4 tbsp water 100 g soft goats cheese 500 ml double cream Make the Pastry Dough Step 1 MAKE THE PASTRY DOUGH Chuck the flour, salt, poppy seeds and butter into a food processor and blitz into breadcrumbs. Pour in the water gradually, mixing until a dough is just formed. Wrap the dough in cling film and rest in the fridge for a few hours. Preheat the Oven Step 2 PREHEAT THE OVEN Preheat the oven to 200ºC. Lay Out Pastry in Tart Case Step 3 LAY OUT PASTRY IN TART CASE Roll out the pastry so that it is as thin as a pound coin. Lay it over a 24cm tart case. Ease the pastry right into the edges and corners of the case gently. Trim any excess pastry away. Rest & Bake the Pastry Step 4 REST & BAKE THE PASTRY Place a layer of greaseproof paper into the pastry case and fill with baking beans or rice. Rest the pastry in the fridge for another 30 minutes. Bake the pastry for 10 minutes then remove the beans and paper. Cook for 5 minutes more, before removing from the oven to cool. Turn the oven down to 160ºC. Fry the Bacon & Leek Step 5 FRY THE BACON & LEEK Chop up the bacon into small pieces. Halve and slice the leek thinly, then wash in cold water to remove any grit. Fry the bacon and leek in a pan with a knob of butter and plenty of black pepper. Toss in the chopped parsley and put the mixture into a sieve to drain any excessive liquid. Fill the Tart Step 6 FILL THE TART Spoon the filling into your quiche case and scatter with the grated cheddar. Whisk the eggs and double cream in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the leek and bacon until it almost reaches the top of the tart. Bake & Serve Step 7 BAKE & SERVE Transfer to the oven and dot pieces of goats cheese on top. Bake the quiche for 45 minutes, until the egg just has a slight wobble and is golden all over. Serves 8
Thank you so much, I have often wished someone could do this for a lot of the old recipes. According to one of the contacts I had with their team they lost a lot of the recipes when they changed their website. If more of these can be resurrected I think it would be fantastic!!
Sausage, tomato, sharp cheddar, and a little dried sage is also quite nice in a quiche or eggy casserole. There are a lot of meat/veggie/cheese/seasoning combos which can be fun. ^_^
Food. All food excites me. Lol. I love to cook and really enjoying sharing a good recipe with friends. There really isn't one food that I go nuts for over others. Thanks for another vid guys. Can't wait to see the next.
The difference between pouring the egg and creme mixture in separately from the leek/bacon mixture is that when they're poured in separate, there's actually a difference in not only distribution of ingredients, but there's actually a noticeable difference in consistency once done baking.
I watched this video, decided I wanted to make it, went to the grocery to get some bacon & leeks (everything else we already had in the fridge), then came home with leeks & mushrooms... not sure why, but I had convinced myself that it was mushrooms I needed
Hummm, what foods excite me... It's actually dependent on my mood really and the seasons. For example, in the winter months, I'm into heavier thicker foods that will stick around for a while and help keep me toasty through out any activities I have planned. Whereas the Summer months, the fresher and the rawer the better. BLTs, salads of any kind, fruity stuff and the like are the name of the game. Fall means pumpkins, apples and squash based foods... Beans and corn and other harvest crops. And spring... Ah meee... I do love spring! It's when the first bloom of the edible flowers come in and you can make everything perky and festive yet dainty and softly smart. Of course, regardless of season, ethnic foods can never go wrong. Chinese and Japanese are Always a delight! Sushi and General Tso's chicken for the win Every Time!
Sushi ALWAYS excites me! It's such a fun delicate food. With tons of variations. Suited specifically to your desires. Delicious. Fresh. Colorful. Vast.
Ever tried thing for quiches/tarts where instead of cutting the pastry you fold the edges around, loosely, and roll the pin over the top? I've always wondered if that really does work.
This looks fabulous, guys! When I make quiche, I sauté an onion which goes on top of the pastry, then put a mixture of spinach, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese on top along with the egg/cream. SO DELICIOUS!
We don't have any baking beans so when we bake pastry, line the pastry with baking parchment and cover it with pennies. Also, blue cheese quiche is amazing!
I am crazy about MIKE, as everyone knows, and I am crazy about quiche so this was a very special treat for me. Both MIKE and quiche in the same video this was just too good not to watch many many times, a perfect video to start the weekend with. Only one more day till Fridge Cam and hopefully more MIKE as well.
A food that really excites me is bread. I love the simple joy of any type of bread, baps, rye... And when u make it into bread pudding ooh, ur in Heaven with a good chance of blissful eternity
Ahhh, Quiche is so nostalgic for me. I rarely get to eat it, but when I was little my grandmother introduced me to it (nobody else in our family liked it) at a...restaurant, I think? Either way, I ate it and my life was never the same. I'll definitely have to try this out when I have the time! Maybe I can convert my friends and roommate with it the way my grandmother converted me!
This moment when on your French lesson teacher asks you to do quiche Lorraine bc we were talking about it all lesson and you still don't have any idea what that is but think "Guys from sorted probably did it" and you did! Thanks guys 💖💖
When I was still a kid I used to ask my mum to make me Quiche Lorraine as a birthday treat because quiche is effin' delicious!! I am so going to try that recipe out! :3

This brings back some old memories. Been following you guys for years, loved the development of this channel.
Ben is trying so hard to not be too enthusiastic
aww look how bright Ben's eyes when the quiche is done and cooked :D
Thank you! Quiche is a good thing to eat instead of cake when having a little coffee get-together. As I am diabetec, It's like a slice of bread topped with the cream of eggs and vegetables.
A good thing would be to add some thin carrot slices to garnish.
i need a ben in my life
Cait Knight I would buy a cupboard for his silicone bakewares before letting him in if I were you
never been a big quiche fan but we may have to try this one!
Ben's face when the quiche was done is absolutely adorable! :))

I just get excited by food in general. All of the foods!
If you're busy fangirling over quiche and you don't realize you don't have ceramic beans, regular beans or small coins of some sort will work. It's really the only good thing about pennies.
THIS LOOKS FLIPPING INCREDIBLE!!! i would love some baking videos! or some smoothie recipes?
Ben can you make another quiche video please, we need to see an updated version of your excitement with quiches.
Mike seems almost doting in this video. Like, he's so amused that Ben gets to have fun cooking one of his favorite dishes.
But but Benny looks sooo HAPPY IT'S SO ADORABLE!!!!!!
So... Ben is the only one who can actually cook, yes? The rest are like his dopey sidekicks?
At the time you wrote this...it was kinda true...now the boys are pretty good at cooking. The cooking battles are awesome. I love the story behind why these guys made this channel and it's pretty cool how far they've all come. Oh..and James is awesome too.
My conversation" has Mike ever looked better than in this video? The answer is NO he has never looked better....he is so great.
I love quiche, Ben! Don't let the boys give you a hard time. Also, I'd like to know why you don't think it's good if it goes in the fridge? When I make them for a household of three, we always have leftovers. I love having the leftovers for breakfast the next morning.
It's fine after the fridge... but I think it's just a bit more solid.
Ben's little nod at the end is adorable!
Completely forgot about this channel for a few months. To come back to a corker of a dish like this! Gonna try it!
I didnt want to watch the lobster die :(
You are now comment of the week :)
+SIRA063 You can still avoid that by watching the wonderful Pull Apart Pizza Recipe and earn a little laugh because of Jamie's little laugh and James' grin
Ohh did you mean that you came to this video BECAUSE you didn't want to see the lobsters die? That makes more sense hahaha
.
wesleysull
So it was alone and cold, afraid in the dark?
Awwww he thought those were wasabi beans hahaha. Too adorable.
Fårikål - always gets me excited. One of many reasons why I love autumn...

2:45 I love how Ben laughs before Mike tells his little story, already knowing what he's going to say and remembering it happening.
I really enjoyed how happy Ben was during this episode. It was really adorable!

Ugh that looks really, really good. Never had a quiche before but now I really do want one. I love how enthusiastic Ben is about his quiches xD
you are always surprising me guys i just can say thanks over and over

Thank you so much, I have often wished someone could do this for a lot of the old recipes. According to one of the contacts I had with their team they lost a lot of the recipes when they changed their website. If more of these can be resurrected I think it would be fantastic!!
Haha! Mike's face as Ben starts the recipe is priceless.
Like Ben, I love a good quiche. I've done bacon & leek before but I used sage & grated pine nuts in my pastry crust.
A group of handsome guys cooking is by far the most attractive thing I've seen.
Sausage, tomato, sharp cheddar, and a little dried sage is also quite nice in a quiche or eggy casserole. There are a lot of meat/veggie/cheese/seasoning combos which can be fun. ^_^
I love baking, sweet things mostly. But my favorite flavor is ginger, I can't get enough of it, I think it goes well in almost everything.
Very nice! I love the poppy seeds in the pastry crust! Nice touch! I would've added some thyme or sage too since they both go well with eggs.
Is Mike wearing eyeliner? Conchita's got competition!
Please do recipies for University students who live in dorms!
Any kind of food in which bread is the center of focus is a real excitement for me!
Just made this (I cook for a dorm of four every morning) and man am I glad I have enough for a second one. So good.
Great guys!! love the combination of bacon plus goat cheese and poppy seeds!! I always feel so hungry after watching your videos...
Ben's soooo happy I can see him struggling to contain his joy
i`m making quiche at school and i get to pick what goes in it... this has given me some great ideas...thanks ben
Ben looks so happy〜♡ I love happy Ben :) It makes me happy (^^)
I could feel the 'scream of fangirling' inside Ben's head throughout the video.. Oh Quiche~
Food. All food excites me. Lol. I love to cook and really enjoying sharing a good recipe with friends. There really isn't one food that I go nuts for over others. Thanks for another vid guys. Can't wait to see the next.
I searched yesterday for a quice recipe with leek, and now you upload a recipe for it. thank you!!!!
The difference between pouring the egg and creme mixture in separately from the leek/bacon mixture is that when they're poured in separate, there's actually a difference in not only distribution of ingredients, but there's actually a noticeable difference in consistency once done baking.
CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE UPLOAD THE BLOOPERS FROM THIS EPISODE!? I really want to see Ben fangurling hahahah
Aww, congrats Ben, for finally having it your way!
Made it, loved it,delicious guys!!!!
Thanks for this SUPER recipe:)
Will be watching out for many more of your lovely recipes!!!
i made this yesterday. now it's one of my favorites, too :) absolutely delicious, will be making it again!
Hooray for quiche!
:D
I watched this video, decided I wanted to make it, went to the grocery to get some bacon & leeks (everything else we already had in the fridge), then came home with leeks & mushrooms... not sure why, but I had convinced myself that it was mushrooms I needed
Where were you guys when I needed this recipe two days ago???
Awesome sauce gotta try this next time I'm craving quiche
I get excited over Thai coconut soup. Definitely one of my favorite dishes.
Ben's most enthusiastic video in Sorted.
Hummm, what foods excite me...

It's great when someone loves something so much, they're not even embarrassed that they're obsessed; they embrace it!
Probably a good idea to give your chopped leek and good rinse. They can be gritty from sandy bits that got stuck in the layers whilst growing. 😋
Sushi ALWAYS excites me!
It's such a fun delicate food. With tons of variations.
Suited specifically to your desires.
Delicious. Fresh. Colorful. Vast.
Mike always looks like a lost chicken when you guys make him cook LOL
Barbeque is always something to be excited about! Everything is awesome on the grill!
Ever tried thing for quiches/tarts where instead of cutting the pastry you fold the edges around, loosely, and roll the pin over the top? I've always wondered if that really does work.
Pineapple, mango sorbet!!!! Or bucketfuls of ice cream...or a float?
Love it!!!! My aunt always put broccoli into the quiche! But what if I don't have those ceramic balls when baking the crust?
I've been making those crustless quiches regularly since you posted that video (however many years ago) - can't wait to try this one!
Serves 8? Haha, ha. Not if I have any say in the matter :)
Damn right, bro haha
I was thinking the same thing. :)
Serves 8 slices into my face hole!
I could eat half in one go
This looks fabulous, guys!

Don't worry Ben, lots of us wanted a quiche for quite some time, and boy did you guys deliver! Looking forward to making this!
Chocolate Mousse excites me the most !! 😊
Ooh and I love the addition of goat cheese, sounds delicious!
I'm just so happy for Ben you know? So so so happy.
Ahhh, Quiche is so nostalgic for me. I rarely get to eat it, but when I was little my grandmother introduced me to it (nobody else in our family liked it) at a...restaurant, I think? maybe ben's just waiting for someone to make him the perfect quiche....
This moment when on your French lesson teacher asks you to do quiche Lorraine bc we were talking about it all lesson and you still don't have any idea what that is but think "Guys from sorted probably did it" and you did! Thanks guys 💖💖
I really love this recipe. Please include the ingredients list & instructions to this video. I would really appreciate it ❤
That looks amazing. I have made plenty of quiche but never my own pastry. Now I'm inspired to try it!
You guys are so mean to Ben!!!! It's sexy for a man to love to cook!!!

Canadian poutine with Quebec cheese curds
What a coincidence a sorted Food advert came up before the video started :D
Awww, that happy nod at the end :D
I love a good spinach & feta quiche
Quiche is like the ultimate dish that you can bring anywhere for anything. It's a multitasking dish AND it is DELICIOUS :D
my brother and I even made Quiche for Christmas, a vegetarian one and one with tuna and capers, it was delicious
Mike's extra adorable here!
Always loved spicy chicken enchiladas with home made corn and rice tortillas! Lovely!
heart melts as soon as you pulled that goat cheese log out :) good job!
For, there's nothing more satisfying than making a nice Italian meringue
that quiche looks fantastic!
speaking of favorite foods: mine is beef stew, and i'd love to see what one Sorted looks like.
Oh! And prime rib, deviled eggs, potato salad, spanakopita, gyro meat, beef schwarma, falafels, dolmeh, kibbehs, torta milanesa, pad thai, tom kha khai, chicken satay and so much more!
i get excited about sponge cake! when i take it out of the oven and it's puffed up and pillow-soft and the whole kitchen smells like a bakery whoaa~~
