Hi paul thanks for all your videos it's a breath of fresh air not having a sponsored angler doing it. Also great videos and great indept videos regards leo
Hi Paul, I recently got in touch with you about my Matrix tray not tightening on my leg and you suggested putting a jubilee clip, so it could rest on that. I have tried it a couple of times now without any problems, so I have ordered the hood it has just come. It fits on really easily as well like you said, so just waiting for this weekend now to try it out. Thanks Paul👍
Top review Paul. I have this tray and love it. It fits nicely on my Inception seatbox. I use the MAP seal bait system and this sits perfectly on the tray. I also set up my landing net similar to how you have it….works really well. Will have to look at the cover but at the moment I simply use the lid on the MAP bait system.
The cover is out of stock at the moment, but it sounds like you’ve got a good set up already, maybe the cooler cover would be better in summer for you.
Thanks for another good no nonsense review Paul Just a heads up for people with the p/f 25 boxes and the legs being close to the frame. Octbox make an adapter for their 25 mm leg boxes to move a side tray away from the frame. It's 10cm/4inch long. At one end is a 25mm round leg clamp at the other end is either a 36mm or 25mm clamp depending on what accessories your using. You then get a short stubby post that fits into the outer clamp that you attach your tray to. Not cheap at nearly £ 30 per set but rock solid and sorts the issue out plus you can raise the tray as high as you want.
Thx for the review Paul 👍 Ive got the nufish hooded side tray. The tray itself is spot on but the hood is 'useless'. It has never stayed up using the tighteners i av to use a bungee cord also the waterproof lining of the hood all flaked off within 3 months of buying it new so its not waterproof 😩
That’s not great. I was out in heavy rain last week and the Matrix cover is definitely waterproof. It will eventually wear out, especially as it maybe doesn’t get a lot of care and attention, but then I can just replace the cover.
great review as i have the self supporting side tray and didnt even realise they did a clip on cover ........ ive just looked on ebay and angling direct to buy one but unfortunately everywhere seems to be sold out
Thanks Paul for another good review. Does the rain cover pull over any further than you showed? Its just that when im holding a long pole and feeding my swim, plus priming my pellet waggler or feeder swim, i place the easy access bait close to my leg so i can reach it blindly without stretch. That near third area where you'd position the easy access bait appears unprotected on the demo.
You need to remember that the tray is closer to your box than other side trays (knuckle to attach is part of tray). I suspect where you currently have your bait on your existing side tray would be under cover on the matrix.
@@paulstacklereviews1695 Thanks Paul but I'm not sure that answers my question ref - does the cover reach the near side of the tray? I can fully see the advantage of having the tray closer to hand with reduced distance blind reach, especially with the larger gap between the trays and the MAP seat, but a disadvantage if that area can't be rain/sun covered.
It’s a MK Quattro box. They are the same company who make the new s2023 Maver Box. Only 4 legs which saves weight and makes setting up a doddle. It’s super sturdy and now I have 36mm legs I don’t have to use inserts any more. The seat is mega comfy.
Yes and no! I bought the Quattro in the Black Friday sales. I wanted to try a frame box with 36mm legs and the box is superb (love the 4 leg design and the seat is incredibly comfy) and at 18kg is quite light compared to others. Unfortunately that’s 5kg heavier than my H30 and due to medical issues I have is too heavy for me to move safely, especially the venues I fish where a nice level access is rare. I’m back on the H30 and will be putting the Quattro on eBay.
@@paulstacklereviews1695 Oh dear Paul that is a shame but l prefer the H frame boxes anyway. I don't even use a footplate. l like my feet on the ground and sit lower to the water. . I just wish l could find a suitable side tray the ones l've looked at are either too big or too small
@@davidsmith2663 tha Matrix is an excellent size and unlike many only attaches to one leg, after further testing the hood is definitely 100% waterproof.
@@paulstacklereviews1695 not sure the way the Matrix fits closer to the box would work for me but l am going to my local tackle shop to see if l can try one. Maybe the 40cm x 40cm would be a good choice for me. How's the Centris reel going? I love mine for my feeder work but l am more than satisfied with the Aero XR 5000's for my pellet waggler fishing. I totally agree with you about the old Centris too. It is a better choice for me also . Don't like quick drag and prefer the direct handle attachment to a flimsy folding handle. I am just about to order a Centris double handle for my Magnitude and most likely to buy anothr pld Centris before they are obsolete.
The Centris is a very good reel, however I find the clutch adjustment fiddly (I have reduced dexterity in my left hand) and think I actually prefer my Magnitude, double handle doesn’t matter to me. I’ve just ordered an Aero XR 5000 and think I’ll sell the Centris.

@@jamesstridgen6320 brilliant news, glad to help. The hood is excellent and easy to remove for the odd dry day we get!
Well reviewed Paul. Useful piece of kit. Cheers

It doesn’t cover the part of the tray nearest the box with the knuckle.
Great video Paul ;; I see you have a new seat box ? Are you going to do a review on that soon ???? Neil from Shropshire
I may well do, I’m very impressed so far and bought it as a Black Friday bargain!
