Sorry for my english.... In Greece BMW uses (I think) EXIDE which I personally do not prefer (at least in the 1150 RT). As for the ABS light, if it does it again, look at it! It came on for me too 2.5 years ago and I didn't pay attention as I thought it was the battery. But in December 2022 I had to replace the ABS unit with new ones as it broke. Be careful... if your ABS unit breaks you will have no brakes !!
We had battery problems and thought it was messing with the ABS. Same as you not taking or holding a charge. But we have since taken the ABS off. Pump working sometimes, then not. Brakes are still brilliant but no ABS.
@@kengsadventure1806 I think this one I got a few days back must have had the ABS disconnected too as no light comes on. They are good brakes. I've only had ABS kick in once on a bike over the years :-)
No lights are a good sign the ABS has been decommissioned. The pump sits in front of the battery when you change it, you should be able to see the pump. Remember, you don't have dual braking now.
@@kengsadventure1806 Thanks for the note about no dual braking. I typically use the combination of front back or back as a matter of habit by now on all bikes without or with that feature, but didn’t think about it removing the dual braking feature. My cheap bike will probably end up being expensive by the time I’ve added various new things. Just plonked a video up of it.

Yes, I have since stripped out the ABS. The pump would work and then not. The brakes are as good as before, but no ABS
Just bought a 2002 1150 RT in the same colour and I think I need a new battery. Isn't holding the charge. Subscribed to see what you get up to... Ta

For me the best battery for this motorcycle is Odyssey PC 680.
( I have this BMW)
Hi, yes, looks to have good specs. Not cheap. In the end we had a BMW branded battery with a bit of discount under the £100

We have had to remove the ABS real simple job video to follow. Cheers, thanks for watching.
