    Nice video again...
    Glad you’re liking Cubase. In case you haven’t discovered it yourself yet, here’s a tip that will speed up your workflow in situations like the one where you duplicated the rhythm parts (because they were originally only half a bar long):
    Instead of CTRL/CMD-clicking and dragging to duplicate the MIDI part, just grab the small square on the middle right of it and drag it to the right. That will create as many copies as you want / depending on how far you drag it (NOT to be confused with the BOTTOM right square that is used to lengthen or shorten the part, BTW)
    Alternately, you can also just press CTRL/CMD+D, which creates one duplicate directly to the right of whatever you have selected (...and if you repeat that shortcut it just continues to line up the duplicates to the right.)

    15:50 Chord Switch
    At the beginning of each midi you dragged,there's one "Switch Note Triggrer" with the sound of a Slide.
    Just don't delete that first information Note, otherwise everything will sound the same.
    You can turn its Volume/Velocity down so it doesn't make any big sonic trouble.
    16:38 At the main window, you can turn down the FSA (Fret Attack Sound Gain) and FSR (Fret Release Sound Gain)

    Thanks for the video! Another Cubase tip that you perhaps know already is that you can also quantise note lengths so they don’t overlap. I wanted to ask you about dragging tabs to riffer, but I read below you say you know nothing about the tab engine. (I don’t read tabs, but there are so many good free ones on the web, that they can be a great starting point.)

    • @hifimidi
      @hifimidi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Federico Thomsen Audio that’s a great feature! I am trying to learn more about Cubase for future vids. I wish I knew tablature. It would make my videos more informative.

    • @ThomsenTower
      @ThomsenTower 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hifimidi I am just an amateur, but, is there so much to learn about tablature? It was created, I believe, to make things easy for guitar/bass players who don’t read music notation. Nevertheless, I would find it interesting to see your take just on using free tabs as a starting point for the Riffer. No need to know much about tablature for that! Your helpful tutorial assumes we already know the notes for the guitar part. Thanks anyway!

    Thanks for your video - it was exactly what I was looking for. I bought AGL and AGG yesterday... At the moment I have a problem to import a TAB file from guitar pro 7 that has more than one voice. In ASHost only one voice is shown. So if you make a video on that topic this would be great.

    • @hifimidi

      Thank you Bernhard. Unfortunately, I am not a guitarist and do not know how to read tab or how the tab function works. In previous videos, I've apologized for skipping on that feature. But the truth is, I never use it and do not own Guitar Pro 7.

    If anyone knows? In Logic X / Ample Guitar 'Strummer' mode: when I 'drag to host' I can only use one track per chord pattern. It will only work that way. So I have to use a new track for every strum pattern? This seems not to be the case with Cubase, from the video.

  • @igorsenayoutube
    @igorsenayoutube 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really nice as usual, Ruben.
    What do you use to record your computer/daw audio and what format do you export it to achieve the best quality?

    • @hifimidi
      @hifimidi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For pre-recorded videos, I use Screenflow by Telestream. It has its own audio driver. However for live-stream, it’s a bit more complicated. I use OBS streaming software and use Loopback as my audio driver to route Cubase/Logic/Pro Tools audio to OBS with no latency. My audio settings are 44.1KHz 24-Bit

    at 21.00, how did you manage to import a midi file into riffer by dragging? I tried everything but seems impossible for me. can you kindly tell ? or make a video on that ? is there any specific setting in Cubase or ample sound? i even tried to save the midi file and import on riffer but didn't work for me.
