that was the best solo for last few years so far ...... like in early 90´s when he played with great ideas, chops and balls of fire astonishing dynamics and storytelling through the drumset ... yeah, i missed it a lot ..... now it´s coming up again !!!!!! great
i said that now it´s focused on rebound but in 90´s it was tight and groovy like with Mike Stern and Michel Camilo .... he was fine and answered rationally: "either you like or either don´t" .... but i think the groove and the fills with creativity is always something what catches the ear of the musicians in the audience ...
Wow, I wish I could have seen this live. I've been to 4 Elektric Band shows since this song was recorded and they never did this one live. I figured they never did, and then this video surfaces. Not only a live performance, but wow that solo! Lucky You! Thank you for sharing! BTW for those of you who aren't familiar, this is Johnny's Landing from To The Stars
I saw them live in '89, and recorded it with a hand-held mono pocket recorder meant for audio dictation. I still have that damned tape, though long ago I transferred the audio to CD. Crappy quality be-damned - good music is good music :)
The Master has spoken !!!
